Hey Mike, great to hear from you. Yes, its been a while, trust all is well with you. Glad you enjoyed the vid. I know you enjoy the canoe vids. If you haven't seen it yet, take a look at the 2023-3 fat bike and pack raft vid. I think you'd enjoy that one. I just got back today from an overnighter in the Cairngorms (a bike trip, where I broke yet another bike). Hope to get the vid up by the weekend. Slan, Dave

I also found this video very relaxing - paddle sounds in the water, good friends about you and watching the casting with a fly, skilled. We have been suffering through the effects from Hurricane Fiona and Pictou County has indeed been smashed up rather badly. It came in on the 23rd and many do not have power restored as yet. Trees by the thousands have either been snapped off or uprooted. Such incredible power!

Good morning Karen and Kit, I've been thinking about you, and the havoc wreaked by Storm Fiona. The images of the aftermath are really quite something. Living through it must be very tough indeed. I hope your property escaped damage. I'm glad you enjoyed this wee video. It was fun to be out on the water with friends, and to relax over a shore lunch. Stay safe. ATB, Dave

Thank you Dave for this peaceful and inspiring video with the stunning backdrop of the Scottish hills! There's nothing like being afloat with good friends and catching a few fish for the pot. Good to see Sam looking for inspiration through the bottom of his kayak! I miss visiting his workshop when he was still called "Steelhead"!😉Such a talented artist! The approaching gale did hit us in Orkney a couple of days ago!

Thanks for viewing and commenting, very much appreciated. Glad you enjoyed the vid. Sam (and Ian) are great company and talented fishermen. I notice you have a few fishing videos uploaded, which I will check out (I need some pointers). The band of stormy weather moved through pretty quickly, but I think it was the right decision to abandon thoughts of camping and head for fish and chips in Tyndrum instead. Sam regaled me with tales from Orkney on our way down the road. I really must organise a visit for the springtime. Thanks again for viewing. ATB, Dave

What a beautiful location Dave and it was good to share with friends, the morning was glorious as you say, but the afternoon had a certain charm too. I checked out Sam's website, he is a talented artists, I will follow his work. Thanks for taking us along as I know how much effort goes into your videos. D

Good afternoon David, glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for checking out Sam’s website. He is a remarkable man, with a unique talent. Loch Ba is a glorious location to paddle, with such an impressive backdrop, made all the better with some good company. I’d like to have done better at the fishing, but freshwater skills seem to evade me. I think I lack patience for the fishing, and perhaps enjoy moving through the terrain a little too much. The weather over the next wee while is looking unsettled, but I hope to get out to capture a bit more footage for the channel. ATB, Dave

Hi Gary, glad you enjoyed the vid. It was certainly a day of two halves; bright sunshine and calm in the morning with storm clouds gathering throughout the afternoon. The following day was pretty wild. I hope you haven’t been troubled by the stormy weather stateside? Mo sends her love. Keep the blue side up my friend. Dave

Love the Ba Dave fished and camped on Molach many times. It’s probably my favourite loch to kayak, although the sub surface rocks are a nightmare if you scrape on them. Stunning part of Scotland if your looking for somewhere to do that kind of thing.

Hi Boris, thanks for viewing and commenting, very much appreciated. I agree that Loch Ba is a favourite place for kayaking. Such a beautiful landscape with the Etive, Coe and Orchy hills as a backdrop. And, you obviously know it well, with your reference to the many boulders that sit just beneath the surface of the dark, peaty waters. I've lined and paddled the river down to Loch Laidon, which is challenging because of these boulders. Thanks again for viewing. ATB, Dave

Dave Lovely video with amazing views absolutely beautiful. I’m not pretty sure but i think we saw you at Loch Ba with you drone 🤔 we were heading for evening fishing session .
@daveoutdoorsscotland28542 жыл бұрын
Glad you enjoyed the video. I'll check out some of your own videos when I get some free time. I wonder if it was us that you saw. Certainly, we didn't see anyone else on the water in the late afternoon. However, I don't have a drone and just do my filming from a tripod, with a digital, mirrorless camera (or GoPro). I've thought about investing in a drone, to allow me to capture the scale of the countryside. Hope your fishing session was successful. Tight lines, Dave

It was a long time coming but I think the weather wasn’t too bad over the summer and early Autumn. Storm’s appearing regularly now though. Great video as always Dave .

Hi John, yes you are right about the weather. I'm wondering if we will have a wild winter. Cold and crisp would be great, mild and wet, not so much fun but becoming ever more common. Glad you enjoyed the video. ATB, Dave
