I was looking for a wild camp on Loch Laidon, from Loch Ba. It wasn't to be, which was fine.
I had a great night on Loch Ba, truly tremendous.
🥰😍👍👍👍
Thanks for watching the video, PLEASE give it a thumbs up if you have enjoyed it? 👍👍👍 🥰😍

Thought I recognised you when you stopped to say hello. We were camped on the island as well. One of my favourite places. Stunning location. It was a cold wind but lovely if you find a sheltered spot. Great video and love the look of that tent! All the best!

Haha, James is a happy boy! Such incredible scenery-and a new SexyTent!-how could you not be? I love the way your videos make me feel like I’m on a camping trip for a while, as if I can feel the wind, water, and sun, can smell the tasty food (yum yum), can hear the rustle of the nylon, feel the crust in my eyes in the morning, haha-and then be greeted with the glorious sunrise on the lake. Wow. Just wow. Thanks so much for sharing your experience! And I have to say, watching you inhale your food made me laugh out loud: I do the exact same thing on every trip! 😁 Cheers, James!

Is that a single wall tent? Nice. Amazing how light it is inside, even with the dark exterior. You're right, that's an impressive tent! Also, if you're handy with a sewing machine (I'm definitely not), you can make yourself a simple, custom-sized sleeve to fit into the bow and stern of your kayak. I took measurements from my boat, and used ripstop nylon and mesh to form a sort of triangular cone that I could close off with a cord at the wide end. This made it so much easier to load and unload. I just stuffed it full of gear, slid it into the hatch, and then pulled it all out at once when I got to camp. My kayak buddies were envious, haha. I've not seen anything on the market quite like it, so you'll have to make your own. Give it a try!

Frank, no, it has an inner. It really is a great tent. I think I might try out the Nortent Vern 1 and see how that is, but I love this Vern 2. Also, thank you so much for the coffees! I spoke with Karen about that and we'll make sure to have one each and share that with you soon. Really nice of you. Good shout on the sleeve, I might work on that - watch this space. OOI have you suggested this idea to any of the manufacturers?

@@JamesFleming888 the Vern 1 might be nice, but I’ve found that I prefer the extra space of a two person tent, even while solo backpacking. And for kayaking/canoeing, the extra weight is a nonissue, and the extra volume is minimal, so I doubt I’ll ever own another single person tent. (Ask me again in a few years when I’m tired of hauling so much gear up a mountain!) But everyone has different tastes, so you might get a lot out of having the smaller tent on occasion. Not judging! 😁 You’re quite welcome for the coffees! Enjoy! Someday we’ll clink mugs in person! I haven’t approached any manufacturers about the sleeve idea, though maybe I should? I’ve seen conical dry bags, but the advantage of the mesh is that it adds negligible weight and volume, and you can see your gear. I was able to take advantage of the full space at bow and stern without having to crawl into the hatch and strain to reach that bag of food that’s managed to wedge itself into the end…not that that’s ever happened, oh no, not to me. 🙄😁 I wonder if the manufacturers would bother with such a niche product-but then again, all kayaking gear is niche products, right? 🤷‍♂️ Speaking of niche gear, for years I wished someone would make a double walled bowl to keep my food warm (especially on snow camping trips) but all I could find was a cup. Then a few days ago, in a shop here in Japan, I came across a double walled bowl! You could use one of those! Then again, your food doesn’t stay on the plate long enough to get cold, amirite? 😁
So Cute 🥰
