2022 Acura MDX Base…Not Very Basic!

What’s up guys, we are back with another one! What do you guys think of this base MDX? Would you drive it in its most basic form? Have to say I’m impressed by the base model. I could live without all the other features, but the one I really want the most is the interior lights that come one in the night time. So I guess I’ll have to step up to the tech.

The base has ambient lighting as well it just glows a solid single color, while the other trims above it have the 24 color system.

We have this in our cars and I honestly turn it way down or off most of the times. Especially for nighttime highway driving.

No rear or front parking sensors is really lame. You can add fog lights at least in the configurator.

Just go up to the Tech and you get quite a bit more for not a whole lot of money.

I was really into the Honda pilot elite because of the removable middle seat, but it comes around till like 53 grand before adding all the fees and this bass Acura already comes with a panoramic sunroof. V6 regular engine, and a removable middle seat. Might as well just get a Acura MDX.🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

And a much nicer, interior on this Base MDX as well with respect to materials and quality. I've been inside the 2023 Pilot Touring and was not very impressed. It's a big step up from the previous generation, but still far behind the MDX IMO. The MDX has a very solid feeling to it. Acura being the premium brand, this is how it should be but the difference in feeling is pretty noticeable.

Still no official release date but everything I have access to says “later this year”. We’re running out of months so it has to be soon.

Does navigation come standard on the base? Beautiful truck

Built in Nav is not available on the base but Wireless Apple Car Play, Android Auto, & Amazon Alexa are all standard along with wireless charging.

for 50k it has same features or worse than 40k vehicles. no turbo or hybrid, old v6 mill, everyone has leather, interior of doors is nicer but that's it

No fog lights which should be standard. Other than that you only miss GPS which most people don't even use now with smart phones. One question: the Tech and higher have a series of different colored light strips on the doors. The Base doesn't have any choices but I thought it had a white light strip on the doors. Do you know?

Even the base comes with ambient lighting. It’s a single color however and doesn’t allow for the 27 color system found in higher trims.

They should come on automatically with the headlights. I’m gonna walk out to ours and check something real quick. One second..

@@1121gsm Went through all settings and couldn’t find a way to manually adjust the brightness. So I’m guessing it glows how it glows and shows what it shows lol
