My 2020 tech package mdx has a bunch more cameras then just backup, you just have to select which configuration you like including side by side view for like a simulated Aerial view and a curb camera at the same time. The middle knob/joystick does way more then just zooming in and out on the nav system maps, that was just funny you said that. There was a lot you dismissed on the 2020 I noticed watching this video as I consider buying the 22 model, and you flew past some items that were compelling upgrades on the 22 like the back seat climate control interface. You said you were tired or over worked in your video, I do hope your other videos are after you've rested and have had a chance to do better informed video critiques.

Yes, the new MDX is way better in terms of tech and overall design, but that doesn't mean the old one is a bad car. Both of them, I don't think you can go wrong with either one. If you want more simplistic and still a great car, I'd say go with the 2020 MDX, if you want more luxury and features and just an overall better car, the 2022 one is the one to go. But again, even though some might think he is bashing on the old MDX, it doesn't mean he thinks it is a bad car, because both of these are great. It just depends on the type of person you are in terms of what car to get and how much you are willing to spend. I would still recommend both.

So I was JUST in this same boat and I ended up going with the 17-20 MDX tech package instead. For how much they want for the 2022 here in California I couldnt justify $55k for a base model when I just bought a nice pre owned tech off the lot for 20k less. I do like the interior design of the 22 better and the pano roof from the 22 but the 17-20 MDX holds its own I must admit i dont regret the purchase and I surely dont regret the lower car note LOL. I say go drive both, get the details and determine from there whats worth the money for you. Best of luck!

For me, it depends on the person. I'd still go with the 2020 MDX, because I'm more of a simple person who just wants to drive a good, reliable car. And the 2020 MDX is not crazy on the tech, so it makes it less distracting for me, and that's personally what I want. I just want tech that is still good, but simple for me to use.
@wstafco3 жыл бұрын
@@TonyKimtheamusementparkfan Great point. The crazier or more fancy the tech, the greater issues maybe when things go wrong.

@@wstafco Yeah. But again, both hold their own like you said. I think Acura is definitely heading in a good direction with their new design language for sure, and you can't go wrong with both of them. Even if it's just the base 2020 Acura MDX, I'd still buy it.

2022 definitely more cutting edge tech, modern and refined looking, pity they didn't up the torque closer to the 290HP for a little more pull (it is a big heavy vehicle). The Type S power-wise will be a good competitor to the BMW X5 and have the bonus of a "small person's third row". If anyone needs three rows for adults exclusively you have to get the next size up i.e. Tahoe, Yukon, Suburban etc.

Unpopular opinion- I used to have a 2015 Crosstour EX-L, absolutely loved having two screens! So nice seeing them in the 20 MDX- I’ve been saving for a new car but I don’t know if I can’t get over that raised screen above the vents and trackpad wrist thing. And the volume control placement seems really strange as well? Same with 2023 Hondas- that raised screen just looks so meh 🫤 integration in the dash just looks sharper…

That touchpad is trash. I tried it in the RDX and it's confusing. The world revolves around touch screens not sure why they'd put a track pad in a car.
@frankpaul32043 жыл бұрын
Acura took the features from the 2019 RDX and put it in the 2022 MDX. They changed to infotainment system even though dated from a touchscreen to trackpad. That’s was a huge mistake. The V6 engine is a J series engine and it’s also dated when it comes to technology. The third row seats doesn’t have AC vents!! . It isn’t comfortable especially for long rides. This is also a huge blunder on Acura’s part. This SUV is supposedly luxury vehicle but it is lacking when compared to the competition.
