Bingo!! When I was younger I spent more time obsessing over numbers. As I've gotten older I've learned how little numbers actually mean behind the wheel. Objectively slow cars can feel fast. Fast cars can feel boring. And a car that's fun-to-drive doesn't matter much if it's so off-putting that you don't want to drive it.

We have a 2020 Advance package with the embedded navigation. At first we thought we would never need it since we use Apple CarPlay but we went on a vacation in the mountains and lost all cell signal. We were almost out of gas and wouldn’t have found a gas station without the embedded navigation, so we’re actually pretty appreciative of it now😂 it’s a nice reassurance knowing that you have maps downloaded to the car.

For better MPG I’ll suggest staying away from A-spec and getting Tech/Advanced trims which have smaller 19inch rims for better EPA ratings and ride. Positive: - RDX drives really well. Amazing balance of control and comfort. - Spacious. Negative: Spongy break. This is a no-no. Infotainment: I only use it to connect to my phone for music. Yet, it takes 5 clicks to change/select the phone every time I start the car. It couldn't just ask me which phone to connect? Build quality: Not as good as my MDX. Loud wind noise on driver side (but not passenger side). 360 degree camera: Icon too small and not clear enough. Hard to see the parking lines. Why bother with the system if you can't do this right? Other companies do it much better.

I have two issues that bug me. I would LOVE to reply my current RDX with this generation, specifically this blue but red interior. I didn’t like the second generation. But the issue I have is that for a RDX ten years later only gets slightly better gas mileage. The second is that they still require premium. I’m honestly tired of the poor mileage and premium gas that’s required. Other wise I’d get it without a doubt.
@AmitojdeepSinghBrar2 жыл бұрын
Premium is recommended, not required as per Acura. It won’t void your warranty on regular unlike other luxury brands. City fuel economy is poor but on highway it has matched the ratings for me (on Costco premium). It’s a longer, wider and stiffer car than the CRV based gen 1 and that shows in space and rigidity. If you commute in city get NX/RX hybrid or even a top trim Venza.
@chuckfranklin66212 жыл бұрын
@@AmitojdeepSinghBrar agreed I have the exact same vehicle Micah reviewed and no matter what you put in (premium or not) the gas mileage is not much different. I tend to just go with normal not premium gas. Main reason for this is that I had the Honda Accord which had the same engine and motor and I only used regular fuel in it....but because it was lighter got much better fuel economy.

2 issues, 1: no hybrid, with Premium fuel required and current gas price, it’s too expensive to fill it up. 2: no touch screen interface. If Acura fixes both issues, I might actually consider getting MDX.
@troys.91882 жыл бұрын
It doesn't require premium, just recommended, says 87 minimum. I have a 2019 and while the touch pad isn't the greatest, I don't touch it most times other than to start a music or I use my phone. Climate has buttons so, not a fix but not as bad as I thought.
@blackwhirlwind12452 жыл бұрын
@@troys.9188 MDX doesn’t require premium, that’s correct, but 19 city and 25 highway is still not good, and other people have said that they are getting lower MPG than the EPA ratings. Your RDX requires premium though, in 2022, gas becomes extremely expensive to fill up, in my area, it’s almost 5 dollars a gallon even for the 87 regular gas. Lexus has so many Hybrid options, Acura falls short of not offering hybrid. Also, I’m not the only one who dislike touch pad interface, many people also dislike the fact Acura doesn’t offer touch screen, it’s an easy fix for Acura to move the screen on MDX forward towards to the driver and actually offers a touch screen, that’s literally what Lexus did, and people are happy that Lexus listened to the complaints of many people.
@troys.91882 жыл бұрын
@@blackwhirlwind1245 Just filled up, 91 recommended and 87 minimum on the gas cap, I use regular. I averaged 21 MPG on this last tank. Nope it's not good economy, didn't think of that last spring when I bought it. Nope the touchpad isn't for everyone but I've found I can live with it. I bought the car because I loved how it looked and drove and for that I am still extremely happy with it. It has done well in two seasons of snow and many road trips. It's not perfect but I bought it used for a good deal, anything else I was looking at would have required me to buy new. I do hope they make changes to make it better but I'm still happy to show it to people and let them see if it's something they are interested in.

@tiramisu3272 жыл бұрын
@@atmartens is it noticeably better though? The Acura SHAWD drive while impressive setup seems to be tuned towards performance driving. Not sure if that’s really possible in an big heavy SUV. The Mazda AWD is turned towards more day to day driving with G vectoring which helps a lot more at lower speeds. The Acura interior does look and feel a lot nicer tho… just not sure if it’s 10k nicer
@atmartens2 жыл бұрын
@@tiramisu327 I think it all comes down to what your style is. The Mazda CX-50 is brand new, granted it shares a lot with the CX-5, but you're going into a brand new model that hasn't had any quirks worked out. The RDX has been around since 2019, and the best time to get a new vehicle is when they do the refresh. I also think it depends if you're going off road or not. The CX-50 has been marketed as a alternate to the Subaru Forester, where as the CX-5 and the RDX might have a little more in common? Maybe that's just the marketing. I'd sit in both and see which you like more.
@AmitojdeepSinghBrar2 жыл бұрын
I cross shopped a slightly used RDX with a new CX-50. After trying both and coming from a CX-30 Turbo, the Acura is rides much better thanks to independent suspension all around. The Mazda handled well but rear end used to be everywhere with slightest bumps. The engines seem close in power but the Acura has a great top end compared to diesel like torque of Mazda. SH-AWD is real and I love flooring it on ramps. Also the 10 speed on RDX makes for smooth highway cruising at lower RPM. I would recommend and RDX over Turbo PP CX-50. The lower trims of CX-50 have better value. Looking forward to a comparison video of both.
