Im getting out of a 2020 Panigale V4 for a Tuono v4 2021. I got a killer deal on a brand new left over unit so i decided to give it a try. I have the very same reasons you described, i hope i enjoy the Tuono, its looks killed it a bit since the v4 is perfection, but its growing on me.

Looking at getting one now. What kind of deal did you get? Curious if I’m getting a decent deal or not

@@AK-fn6hhi got mine for $10,000 cash out the door. The bike itself was 8k and change, plus tax, title and fees. I think it was one of the best deals i ever got in a brand new killer bike. She is stunning and has tons of torque/hp. Way more comfortable and pleasant to cruise around florida than my old 2020 panigale V4

@@TheClosetBuilderI'm eyeing a 2023 brand new for $11,995 for a similar reason, I just haven't decided if it's enough to justify getting rid of my street triple

This has been a great video for me as I've also looked at and ridden the 2019 RR and loved it, but also had some concerns about how sporty the ride position is. Also looking at S1000R, currently own MT-09. I'm currently looking at the exact bike you are riding here but in silver and completely agree re the factory being a bit loud.

Well, technically it's just base, not rr or touring. Let's be honest: the only real differences are electronic suspension and colors (red is too shouty, black is too stealthy; paint, wraps and decals can help anyone's personal tastes). Almost all other differences are simple and mostly inexpensive bolt on swaps (windscreen, seats, pegs, rear sprocket, bar risers, tires), even base passenger seat is pretty terrible, and the lower passenger pegs can get into the rider's way. Hepco and becker system for the factory attaches to the pegs as well according to the instructions, it's just that the location and size are a little different (I think earlier version was through the tail); I'd rather delete the pegs completely, fit rsv4 cowl, can do gsxr750 sw motech blaze side bags that don't require keeping the passenger pegs. Not sure if nonsensical oem luggage (none have been delivered to the US according to af1racing) can attach to the factory. Would be nice if they differentiated the touring one more, at least given it a hydraulic preload adjuster for the rear or better gave us a version with electronic suspension that has electronic preload adjustment. Semi active suspension makes more sense on the road than on track, track usually dictates manual mode where being electronic makes it nice for quick and easy adjustment, preload requires tools anyway.

Yeah that's basically how I ended the video. If you have loads of money and want the best touring experience possible, grt the factory and just swap out the parts. I still think it's nice we get all the touring bits (I prefer) and 5he bike is still 3500 cheaper.

@@MotoBoboJones it is definitely more comfy than the older tuonos that had wider tanks, no fuel gauge, and less advanced electronics, at least for me, the tank shape seems to be more ergonomic. I'll just avoid ever trying a factory so I don't know how much I'm missing out on the electronic suspension 🤣 or maybe try one and see that I'm not really missing out at all. Some people said they would take base, put factory risers on to get more front end weight/feel/connection, and remove passenger pegs or replace with factory version (or maybe get different rear sets that make the base passenger pegs not be in the way of the foot) for all of the super sporty riding experiences. Realistically speaking there isn't much competition in terms of super sport touring for this. We don't get super duke gt, maybe the new one is coming soon (the latest refresh was still based on gen2 superduke instead of gen3). Ninja 1000 and gsxs 1000 gt are more on the touring side and less on sport side, XR kind of is as well with it's adventure styling/ergos, there goes the multi pikes peak as well I guess. Maybe h2sxse is the closest in terms of experience? But that's more power, size, and weight with less agility as well as clipons that zx-14r and busa have. I don't think there is a better "I want my superbike to be comfy, sound amazing, and be able to do some touring too" proposition that shines on the right road while being great about getting to the right road quickly (perhaps not with the most comfort due to the rear being a crunched up rsv4 position) since it's not a completely naked bike that has cruise control and fuel gauge. Extremely capable on track as well, just adjust the suspension there unless you're ok with being stiffer on the street in track settings. The price premium over gsxs1000gt+ or ninja1000 isn't that big either on the base tuono. Too bad most of the reviews and comparisons mostly talk about the factory while briefly mentioning the base and usually saying it's just as good or what I mentioned before. But somehow in the minds of public "you gotta go for the fancy one" and "it was the fancy one that won the bike of the year, not a base one" because somehow they missed the part that says the differences aren't big at all.

Both mpg and wind are terrible vs. The Xr. The taller windscreen on the rr helps a bit with body wind but my head is still getting pounded unless I'm tucked.

Lmao rr for a touring bike. Should be called the tuono gt. The factory is a tuono the base "tuono" is the SUV crossover of motorcycles. Shame aprillia ruined it.
