Loving my new Standard Tuono in the grey here in Normandy, France. The roads here are amazing and empty. This bike is so addictive and dangerous to your licence but I would highly recommend it to anyone or at least have a ride on one in their lifetime. It's just an incredible bike [and I have been riding since the late 70's]. Oh and the price is a no brainer. It's cheaper than the Ducati V2 Streetfighter [which I was also considering to buy]. Anyway mate ride safe and enjoy the Tuono.

I bought one in late March. Fantastic machine, brilliant quick shifter and powerful Brembo brakes. And I ride a Goldwing, so agree with the ‘where are the pegs?’ thing. Hope the panniers I ordered at the same time arrive soon 🧐

Great video. Personally I’d prefer this version over the factory, I wish they offered something in between with the EC2 and this subframe so we can actually take a pillion on occasion.

I bought a 2023 Factory with the Akra & Aprilia race map oooohhhh the siund. Immediately put bar risers & the non Factory Aprilia touring screen on it along with the Hepko & Becker Streetrack, the result is all the bells & whistles sports tourer. The Ohlins electronic suspension is something special, plush & full control. Only 2 negatives on Tuono, tank range 140-150 miles when gentle & the bar turning circle is horrendous My comparison is my other bike 2020 SDGT

I took delivery of mine last week. Traded a 2020 KTM Superduke R & £3k for a new white non Factory. Love it & looking forward to the Akra end can, de-cat & race map fitting at the 600m service, all in the OTR price. Chasing the noise is very addictive!! Enjoying the channel, looking forward to more.

Why did you change from the Superduke to the Tuono, did you not get on with the SDR?
@richardoldfield40672 жыл бұрын
@@dougie1325 No I didn't get on with it. I found it hard work. Some times it was super smooth & other times it was snatchy & annoying. It was coming up to 2 years old & it seemed a no brainer to px plus £3K for a brand new Tuono with the Akra, decat & race map all included. Better for the pillion too a my wife regularly goes on the back.

Ive had this same bike and colour for 2 years now and 5000 miles. I still love it, only niggles are, throttle grip is splitting already, occasional limp home mode which no one can diagnose and throttle feels a bit fluffy and disconnected at very low rpm. Having said that I'm not looking to change it, that engine is magnificent.
@aluisious5 ай бұрын
So basically your new bike is already a piece of shit at 5k miles. I don't care how good the engine is.

I had a Ducati Streetfighter V4 (Standard) but sold it after a year due to not having any fairing. It was punishing on longer tracks or longer trips. Went back to a Multistrada but I do miss how fun the power is in those V4s. Curious if the new Tuono V4 with it's quarter fairing and taller wind screen makes it more tolerable? Thanks for the video.
@fyorbane Жыл бұрын
It makes it much more tolerable. It deflects a fair bit of wind off your torso.

Thanks Mark! The Tuono feels far more like a racebike, the MT10 is better suited for the road in terms of ergonomics. Both sound stupendous. For me, the Yamaha's dealer network and reliability and lower insurance costs swung it :)
@markpowell4242 Жыл бұрын
Thank you for taking the time to reply. That’s very interesting as I rode the factory and found it cramped and slightly confusing riding position. Knees by my ears and hunched over like a sports bike but with straight bars🤷🏼♂️ but as you found out rides superb. Though this might be better bike for me to have. I’ve ridden the normal mt10 and loved it, I like to try the SP to see if the difference is worth the extra notes. I have watched your video on this also. As I go plan to go away more and would like something a bit more comfy ish than my street triple rs. Plus I find the Yamaha really comfy and love the riding position. I also agree the Yamaha dealer network spot on as I previously had a mt09.

I rode a 2019 model and found it "chuggy" / "hunting" at legal speed in proper gears (not 1st), I even think in 1st it would not behave smoothly when you (gently) go OFF throttle, and ON throttle there was a "shudder" . It felt as if I am being pulled by and pushed in my ass all the time. Maybe this is what (and why) people call "it nudges you to go faast" ? Did you experience any of this, on this new version @Tim?
@timrodierides2 жыл бұрын
I little bit at low speeds… and you might be right in saying that's why it nudges you to go fast!

Curious why no one highlights the ridiculous cost of maintenance. The US dealership price to do the recommended service to 12,000 miles is insane; for the 600, 7,500 and 12k services you're looking at well over $2,200!
@rl_31123 Жыл бұрын
Worth every penny and got it done for half that in the US
@DeltaElite12111 ай бұрын
This is not accurate. I just had a quote for the 12,000 mile service from the Chicago dealership and they told me $1200 if valves needed adjusted, if they are within spec it would be half the cost.
