It’s German they call things different. Mid range (may also include mid “bass”) is most likely split and adjusted by treble and bass. The actual deep bass is adjusted with the subwoofer setting.

I've been watching quite a number of your videos for the past year, and one thing I started to realise is there are quite a lot of systems that have quality hardware but only to be let down by poor tuning. Especially from Bose and lately Harman Kardon. It would be interesting if after the mid-video review after the Homeworld Collapse, maybe you can tweak the equalizer to make it as close as it possibly could to an S tier sound system, just to show what the systems are capable of.

Took delivery of a Q7 prestige recently (not sq7) and it came with the Bang and olufsen 3D system. I wasn’t even able to opt this advanced system on my vehicle. Not sure why but that being said the 3D system is quite good but I ran into the same issues as you. The mids are too bright and it honestly hurts my ears sometimes. Only thing that seemed to work was turning the treble down. Other than that the system has a lot of power behind it and sounds amazing 90% of the time. Vocals are so clear and the system is among the best I’ve heard. Sweet review as always!

@@Moonplant432 oh interesting, I was unimpressed by the Bose system in the A6 back when I listened to it. That being said I haven’t listened to the B&O systems in the A6 but the one in my Q7 is quite good.

Regarding equalization, keep in mind the Spotify app (and possibly others) includes an equalizer screen. It may be the best that can be done at this point.

I love my b&o sound system in Q7 2007-2015 , in my opinion it sounds better than in newer Q7 and it's one of the best audio system for cars ever created. I actually compared it since my friend has a 2022 Q7 .

The touch setting can be adjusted. When I first drove one I thought it was extremely difficult to use until I change the settings. Now it’s one touch with some haptic feedback. Still want buttons but it’s much better.

You also have it wrong. There are no “3D” speakers. 3D is digital processing. The extra speakers you pointed out as “3D” are the ones that the “surround” adjustment will amplify

the 3d midrange and tweeter in the front he pointed out are enabled only by the 3d effect being turned on. the speakers in the ceiling behind the rear seats aid more with the surround. as well as digital processing for the surround, it uses the speakers in the ceiling for it as well.

I had my Audi q7 with b&o system. I used to blast it to max… sad part the amp cuts off after sometime and volume drops to half. And I had to restart my car gain back the volume… after two the amp blew up.. new amp at dealership costs 5000$ plus programming and installation feee… I bought used for 2500$ plus programming 200$ still didn’t fix the cut off problem… it sounds great but amp trips though

That's because it's a class D amp, it can't deliver 1900 watts continuously. It makes me wonder if they used too many speakers that will draw that wattage but the amp can't keep up with higher volume settings, subwoofer settings, etc... I never had any of those problems in my S90 with the Bowers system. I've heard both and while the Bowers has less wattage, the sound reproduction is miles better, no piercing frequencies, etc... The only thing was the subwoofer didn't have the response I'd like. It produced plenty of bass, but the sudden punch that some songs have just wasn't as present as I'd prefer. Otherwise, or was nearly as perfect of a factory system as I've ever heard. I'd still take it over any system Audi offers without a second of thought; it's that good.

I end up getting the bowers & wilkins also, and I'm glad the setup on the bmw IX is a lot better than in other models; not a bass crazy type, but definetely well balanced. The suv body makes a great soundstage for my flac music. I've never experienced the b&w on the volvo, but that's probably better than mine also. Too bad I have to sell the car soon.

The haptic touch is a nice features a lot of people like however you can easily turn it off so its a normal touch screen

@@denalisiomontpellier4064 they're not the same at all. Different placement of all the speakers and I bet the bass response would be better. i have B&O in my D4 A8 but I hear the D5 A8 is supposed to be a huge improvement

@@DualReaver11I didn't know that, I've seen on paper that speakers numbers and wattage are the same (23 speakers, 1920w) So that may be true, but I think the soundstage of an suv interior would make the sound better than in a sedan. Overall, I'm not sure about which B&O would sound better. That's sure the case on bmw, I tried the bowers wilkins on 5 and 7 series sedans before getting it on my IX, and the difference is almost night and day. I'd love to see a test of the A8 D5 regardless of the sound system, it's such an understated wonderful sedan

2021 RS5 owner....the sound system is by far the worst in any car i've had, told I listen to it too loud by the service GM...my wife's SQ5 audio system blows the RS5 away....my advice is order ALL Audi's with the base system and replace it with a professional company

Agree with this, sadly. The advanced system appears to have great potential, but suffers from lack of proper factory tuning (if we are being generous). Base system in prior car sounded much better.
