👁 About this video : Is the outgoing BMW 2 series still worth buying? Today I drive the 2022 BMW 228i which is the smallest most basic BMW available in the USA. This front wheel drive 4 cylinder turbo sedan is a good little package. The exterior looks nice and sporty like any new BMW and the interior of the 2022 BMW 228i is pretty familiar. There aren't any extra frills for the 228i and it's pretty basic. However you get navigation, parking sensors and plenty f safety features. The rear seats are pretty small and if you're close to 6ft tall, you wont have much headroom. But the driving experience is nice and refined. The 2022 BMW 228i feels peppy and solid out on the road. The all new BMW 2 series has been unveiled and will take the place of this and will be a great upgrade for sure! But in the meantime if you want a good little BMW, the 2022 228i is a great choice!

I just drove this car as a rental for a few days. The car is fun to drive and surprisingly quick. It pulls hard and keeps the pull at higher speeds. I was getting over 30 mpg driving it hard and a lot of city driving. I think on a pure highway drive the mpg’s would be mid to upper 30’s. To get that kind of performance and great gas mileage was impressive.

Glad you like the video! Honestly every car has a purpose and fits a different buyer. I wouldn't buy this car because I can get more performance for $40k elsewhere. But this is a great option for the person who values what this has to offer. It's a ver solid small car for sure!

I just got one, too! It’s not the cheapest thing for the size, but I got the xDrive with the M Sport Package. We were impressed by all the features on it. It’s surprisingly solid and quick for the size. My husband has a 2020 X4 M40i, so obviously his car is faster, but this little 228i has plenty of power for most drivers.

I rented that BMW 228i during my vacations in Florida. It's a quick vehicle, handles fine, great gas mileage but is in the small size for space.

I agree. It's a lot to get into the brand. From what BMW told me, people end up settling for the 2 series because it's a tad cheaper then the 3. I'd wait and save the money for a 3. This is a very small car

My biggest gripe about a car is noise .... wind/road noise while driving at highway speeds. I've seen many reviews of the 2 and 3 series and nothing said about wind/road noise. I currently have a 2020 VW Jetta SEL and it's quite. It's my second Jetta.

I didn't go about 50 in this. But I've been on the highway in the 3 series and I didn't see any issues. I'm sure this is a bit louder. From what I did it felt pretty solid. Glad liking the Jetta! I like VW group a lot and would buy an Audi A3 over this 2 series. I'm sure the Audi would feel similar to the Jetta

This Beemer is tricky. It could be a money saver depending on what you want but comparing to the 3 series, not sure if it's a big step back, if you will. With it being it's smallest sedan, the 3 series could be worth paying more for in terms of space and performance. But this exterior color is stomping!

Yeah this is a much lesser vehicle then a 3 series I think. Most people buying this come in for other cars but can't quite stretch the budget and settle for this. It's a lot of money for a basic car. I'd save up and buy a 3 series to get much more of a luxury vehicle.

I have a 2018 bmw 330i with sports package, all black including trim. I was looking at a 2022 bmw 228. Good review, I think my 330i has more to offer. And my car only has 30miles on it.

This car looks great inside and out but it should MSRP at $34,000 for the xDrive to make it worth leasing or buying. Once built it ends up just under $40,000 for the xDrive which is a bit too much in my opinion.

I agree. Pretty pricey for a car that feels like a Corolla. THis is for the person who just needs to show off the BMW logo, but can't afford the bigger cars. I'd get a used 340i for the same price. Or at least a used Audi A3 for $20k or an S3 for still cheaper then this

Real reason im considering this is because bmw surprisingly has good deals, especially on their 2018-2021 models. All in all you can find some with less than 20,000 miles for under 30K not including all of the other discounts I qualify for

They probably use these cars as Taxis over in Europe. I can see Ubers over here in the states use these as well. I rode in an E30 BMW once as a kid and thought it was the most comfortable ride ever. I imagine that this car has that same feeling. 😁

I can get a used C6 Corvette for the same amount of money. If I had to pick a BMW, it would be the Z4, it is the convertible version of the GR Supra.

Just a smaller version really. A bit cheaper feeling tho. 330i feels like a nice normal car, this is a bit cheap feeling and small. I'm not the biggest fan of this to be honest. I think the Audi A3 is a way better option

This is based on the Toyota Corolla so engine electronics is all Toyota so should be liable just rebranded and redesigned body but that's a Toyota Corolla

It still has a nice solid feel as expected from a BMW. It's not a tin box like a Focus lol. Here really isnt anything special about it tho, so I cant see spending $40k for it. I'd save up and buy a 3 series instead. Or just get an Audi S3

In person it's nice a sporty looking to be honest. But you can see the stubby aspects of the design compared to the better proportions of the 3 series.
