If you had to cover 800-1000 km in a day, this would be one of the fastest cars to do it in: power, fuel economy and size of fuel tank

a8 60tdi with a chiptune could be a good alternative I believe it can do 300 km/h or so but you'd need to fuel up once or twice

Fab, I have a 740ld x drive face lift, same black with cognac, although UK never had option of quilting on arm rests :( euprope/Us and Asia only. Ive managed on the M4 from Bristol to Cardiff 62 MPG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! amazing, generally around the 40 mpgs and difficult to get below 35. Best car i have ever had, came out of m140i as the suspension(even adaptive) was tooooo much. The only thing now it has been into the dealer 9 times to sort out knocking front left hand side front, while full lock pulling out of junctions - literally had the whole suspension changed - BMW have now said it just a software update :( thankfully under warranty. Any one else had this issue with their G11-12. BMW seems to think its also an issue with 7 series with Executive drive - which by the way is amazing, no body roll at all :)
