That color is so deep and beautiful! I get very mixed vibes with the car though. Some aspects of the design - both inside & out are gorgeous and hideous at the same time. The seats look great, the carbon on the wheel and console seems somewhat out of place. Overall a great car, but I would definitely spec it differently. If I could afford one, that is.

Great video as always Chris! One thing I will add that I simply cannot stand about the G80 platform - the extent of the fake noise. Most BMW’s, and most cars, enhance the noise thru the speakers - that’s fine! I own a GTI and have no issue with the Soundaktor, similarly with a 340i we used to own. However - these M3 and M4’s have an entirely fake up shift noise. It’s super clear to hear the “klump” noise on every up shift, especially high rpm - and if you have been in one or heard it from the outside, you know that’s completely fake. UPSHIFT noise, bmw?! Come on! The euro m135i has this too plus the rear speakers play a burble… it’s insane.

You know, I'm just not enamored with $50k+ cars anymore. Sure, they are nice, but in my mind they should do more than they do and they should offer more with their inflated accessories prices. It is almost as if the more expensive a car gets, the less it actually does (and what is does do can be frustrating at times). This is my jaded perspective, ymmv.

Great review. How would you rate this car on Michigan roads in terms of ride quality? Is that significantly worse than, say a golf GTI or golf R (which I imagine has similar ride quality)?

Ride is pretty good, firm but not punishing or too abrupt any time. There’s just a lot of tire noise, silly Michelins.

I don't understand why people order white seats and interiors. They get stained and dirty so fast. You cannot wear blue jeans in them, unless they're so old must of the dye has already been washed out of them. You don't dare to keep pens in your car, because you will inevitably drop them drop them point down and leave an ink stain or smear. Leather cleaners are no match for this sh*t.

I know i am in the minority in this thought, but M cars should NOT be AWD. They aren’t Audi or Mercedes, so why build cars just like them? RWD is what made BMW special. Now they’re just like any of the other German brands

Why, to each their own preference. I own a couple of BMW'S as well and I think the price at 100k is a bit high for this M4 convertible. On the other hand Corvette I'm sure will offer more performance and I wouldn't even consider the Cadillac. I just think the M4 would offer a more dynamic driving experience then the C8. Making the BMW more enjoyable to own in the long run.

@@kp2855 I love the M3/4. I’m just speaking to this particular example, that at $100K is a VERY poor value proposition in comparison with superior options at that price point. The Cadillacs, BOTH of them, are objectively better than the M3/4 in driving dynamics (especially compared to this convertible), and the C8 is honestly in a different league as a mid-engined high performance sports car. But you’re right, to each their own.

@@wesleywalls7582 I test drove the C8 3LZ and M4 competition xdrive. Both are great but the M4 comp xdrive was definitely more comfortable and the all wheel drive system was really good. Performance wise they were similar. I don’t think it’s a bad $100k purchase but it is a bit on the high side. 85-90 out the door max with all options would of been good.
