Until I was 18 I read all my books in German. I never realized what an influence the translator can have on a book until I started reading Books in English (when they where originally written in English) and noticed that some of the books I previously hated where totally different in the language they where written in. Eye opening! Enjoy your reading 📚🥰💜

Yeah the translator not only has to change the language, but they also have to try and interpret intent especially when a word or phrase can have different meanings depending on what is intended to be conveyed.

I never realized that when reading books. I knew that films that are shown on German TV and Cinemas, all speech in German, just where lacking something. So watching Films and TV shows in native English was a priority for me, so I really understood what was going on (and got all the inside jokes that do not translate to German 😉)

I would definitely recommend reading The Glass Hotel before Sea of Tranquility for the full experience.

Yeah I just learned after recording that video that it sets up a shared world with Station Eleven and Glass Hotel.

Good grief you must read as fast as you talk. 😁 When I was child I'd read 10 books in a weekend to avoid visitation with my mother. Nowadays I have stacks of books with the intention to read as well as stitching patterns. Happy reading and thanks for the suggestions😁

I don't actually read that fast. In the room I filmed this in I am surrounded by stacks and stacks of unread books.

OMG ... I have to buy books! :) ( I love Haruki Murakami, but Jonathan Franzen, hum ... maybe I should give him a second chance, I think I tried to read that book before corrections, but stopped because it was so incredibly boring).

Yeah, like I said I know he a devisive author. There seems to be no middle ground, people either like him or they don't.
