2022 Chevrolet Suburban-WONT START AFTER USING REMOTE START BUT CAR IS STILL ON…. ?!?!!!

The other day I used remote start to start my brand new suburban and when I got in to hit the ignition button the engine shut off and everything else remained on. I wish I had basic tools because I had my entire family with me so I had to abandon the car (while technically on) and go home as it was freezing and my whole family was with me.
Now: I’m keeping a set of wrenches with me at all times. A complete disconnect from the battery will restart the computers. I hate new technology.

Yep same problem in 2023 suburban only had it for one month! So just unhook the negative for like 30sec! Started right back up! Now we have a socket wrench in the vehicle at all times! Get your shit together GM!

Removed negative cable on 2023 Tahoe RST for 1 min. Fixed it. Needed a pair of good long pliers. Thanks!

Way easier to remove the negative battery cable. And yes I am a GM Guy for the last 50+ years and spent more than 40 years at GM Dealerships mostly as a service manager. All this new electrical stuff is starting to drive our sales people and especially our GM Dealer Technicians crazy. They do not know why this is happening and when you call GM? Well if they had an answer, we wouldn’t have these forums now would we. I came through the carb to fuel injection era, the 700r4 era, the 6.5 diesel injection pump era (this actually compares to that now that I think about it), the def introduction era. But I have to admit if this is already a problem? I can’t wait to see the all new electric vehicles the government of various countries are pushing for.

This problem has been fixed by GM. I have the GM memo concerning this, GM bulletin PIT5873B They have to reprogram the BCM and it fixes it. It's a software issue.

I've been dealing with a similar problem for over 2 years with my 2020 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 (back when the warranty was in effect). Now the battery drains completely etc.. They still can't fix it. GMC knows they have a problem but it is not being addressed.

Thank you for the video. My boss has a 2023 Tahoe and this happened. I took it to get gas right up the street came back parked it. No problems. He went to leave and couldn't because of this. Wish I found this 6 hours ago ha also of course I got blamed by my coworkers! Hah

Can you explain what you mean by starting the car before the remote start times out? Does it not just keep running when you get in? I have one that does this when I do not use remote start. It is very random. I called my Chevy dealer and they say they have never heard this complaint.

Yes- when you start the car before the remote starter timer times out (15-20 min) is usually when this happens. Typically if you let it time out it shouldn’t happen, regardless though if you disconnect the battery terminal you should reset the computers.

hey dude, i know its a totally different video but i didn't want this comment to go unnoticed. i am wondering about adopting a 1 year old female german shepherd and the adoption centre says she isn't aggressive but i am worried about whether i will able to form a bond with her, if she will be able to adjust to a new owner at this age and things like that. and if she isn't able to then whether she would get aggressive out of fear. also i will have to leave her alone for approximately three hours daily. do you have any advice/suggestions?

As always- exercise is key. If they say she’s not aggressive you have to trust them. I’d ask to foster her for a week to see how she does, 3 hours is nothing as long as you give her a ton of exercise every day. She’ll know she can wait here and there if you can’t do it before you leave. (IMO) that said even if she is aggressive find a friend with a dog that’s laid back you can have her around. It’s like anything else they’ll eventually get bored of the fighting and move on to something else (unless the aggression is very bad) but I doubt that. Answer to everything is exercise- they’re working dogs- work her and she’ll be happy.

Mine did exactly the same. I disconnect the negative for 1min and still won’t turn on. I disconnect the negative and then positive for 1 minute, still won’t turn on. I am beyond upset.

I have 2021 Chevy suburban little over 50k mile now is happen like this Vedio can’t start say low battery so I replaced both key battery and big battery also still show all light check engine like traction light and every day show to dealer they said it ok all good I going to change to Toyota no more GM
