You don't buy a truck for fuel economy. You either buy them to work, tow, or just mall hop. I bought mine to mall hop in style.

I just bought a 2019 Silverado LD with 30,000 miles. Clunking noise when accelerating and decelerating. According to carfax, the engine ead checked around 8,000 miles and the fuel injectors were checked around 20,000 miles. The vehicle apparently had this issue since manufacturing and the prior owner thought it was the engine or fuel related. The vehicle is certified pre-owned. The dealership brought the truck to me and I didn't test drive it. I thought what could be wrong with a truck with 30,000 miles on it and a bumper to bumper warranty. The guy that brought the truck mentioned that they checked the transmission which was odd to me but, it didn't click in my head until after I drove it. I also asked him why there were almost 31000 miles on truck at delivery, he said they had it detailed, which the truck was dirty.

I test drove a turbo 4 sierra in February... For the extra 2k tacked onto the sticker for the v8, I just can't figure out who really wants the smaller 4.
@turdferguson28392 жыл бұрын
The 4 cylinder looks like a good option, amazing to think a 2010 f150 with the big 5.4 V8 only made 310 horsepower and 380 torque. This 2.7 has 430 torque and an 8speed and it's the base engine.

I liked the 2.7l in the Silverado but didn't like it in the 23 Colorado. Go figure.

Load up the truck with five people and hook up your trailer and that 4 cylinder will be out of gas. What is GM thinking? Putting a 4 cylinder in a big truck is silly.

Am I crazy for preferring the simple design of the 2021? Maybe I’m just used to it more but I am a bit boomer-y bc I don’t trust digital clusters, what if the screen goes out?

If you want to save fuel, get the diesel. You forgot about it after mentioning it early on.
@elche19762 жыл бұрын
The problem with diesel is they're pretty much legislating it out of existence for people. So many taxes coming down the pipeline. Any savings due to good mpg is offset by initial higher cost, diesel just costing more... but more and more by fees/ taxes.

I picked up my new Chevy Silverado, 2022 in April. I got the 5.3 V8. you don’t want to get the four-cylinder. The 5.3 pulls better especially going through the mountains and I averaged 11.5 mpg. Google is a joke after your first month. You have to pay for it to work. I think it’s like 50 bucks a month. use your Apple phone. It will do everything google does

I would definitely say that you iare n the minority preferring the 8-speed over the 10 speed. I see no point in buying a four-cylinder even though it's $1,500 cheaper cuz you're going to lose that much on your resale if not more
@mikeriv602 жыл бұрын
This is a great base engine but it seems people forget that point. The 4.3 was a joke and the 5.3 is a POG. These 4s are build really heavy duty and will work just fine. I also wish there was a hybrid model. For years I have been saying that and it makes no sense why there are so be little of them. Personally I think it's because their trying to push everyone into the garbage EVs and yes their garbage. Hybrid is the way to go but to many people have bought into global B...S warming. People need to smarten up
@eddiesidorov86352 жыл бұрын
All my 5.3’s haven’t had any issues 👀 what’s wrong with them? My 2021 is non-DFM, the 2020 I had before had DFM and got to 75k with zero hiccups.

The MPG's is complete garbage. Not worth it.
@petron16112 жыл бұрын
When you put a smaller engine in the same chassis because people are so moronic they think it will be better MPG than the v8's....... and they come out to be the exact same MPG as the V8's just with a shorter life expectancy now hahaha now that is fantastic marketing GM
@davidporter70512 жыл бұрын
You must not have done much research. The expected lifetime of a power train is 120K miles. The majority of engines will last past 120K.

Full-size trucks are so expensive nowadays... How many people are actually in the construction industry that need something this big and thirsty?
@davidporter70512 жыл бұрын
The Ram Hybrid does not have better fuel economy. It's worse than the 5.3. in the real world it's worse than the 6.2. I know because I have owned trucks with all 3.

Dear followers!! Don't let the beautiful pictures confuse you . Anyone who buys a new car from GENERAL Motors the chance you threw your money into the trash is very large. In this company there is no customer service, the company's management does not care at all, if you have a problem or a malfunction, you can only pray to God there is a chance that the help will come faster. GM is a very dangerous company, be careful and keep your money safe.!!!Share so more people don't get screwed.GM is a big bluff

Consumer Reports says that Chevy / GMC are the worst pickup in reliability than any other pickup on the market. The new GM pickups are known for catastrophic engine failures, transmission problems, electrical problems, brake problems, fuel injection problems. GM trucks have fallen in reliability below the Dodge. It’s pretty sad to spend 50-100K for a lemon. It’s also sad that out of the “Big Three”, you come in 3rd. I’ve owned all of the Big 3 and I get more trouble free miles from my Fords. The most reliable truck I ever had was a 2010 Tundra 4X4, SR5. But with Socialist Biden shutting down our oil pipeline and gas prices souring, I had to sell my Tundra in 21 with 350K miles.
@rememberthefallen19702 жыл бұрын
Yup own a 2019 toyota tundra 1794 trd package, max tow, etc. It's fully loaded. I drive cross country for work and have 100k miles on it already. I drive alot. No issues at all. Do some towing a little here and there. I work in the oil and gas pipeline industry. This thing has taken me to places in the worst conditions and just keeps going. Gas ain't good but who cares when you have the most reliable pick up in the country
@paulm64812 жыл бұрын
I think one has to get a V8 with Silverado for so,e type of reliability. I take a F150 over this any day though.
