Ford’s problem is you can’t get common parts for vehicles that aren’t even that old. So you buy an F150 thinking I’ll be able to keep it 10-15 years and you can’t. I could see niche cars but not ones they sell millions of. I’d stay away from ford for that reason. Of course no vehicle today will be able to be kept that long. All by design. Planned obsolescence.

Sadly @medmark is right, Toyota’s Tundra sales compared to 2023 are equal and in some cases surpass the previous years’ on a month-by-month basis. Most people aren’t like us. I agree with having zero confidence the Tundra engines will survive long enough to pay off your loan (Same with Taco's new transmissions) but I also know this will take years and years before the consumer loses confidence in Toyota so it will be some time before it would strongly affect their sales. This is assuming they don't fully fix the issues with the Tundra's and Tacos

From 1970 Up until 2020, $20k off MSRP for a truck was the norm for domestic trucks. That was BEFORE the massive price increases, so now it would be 40% off as the true value. I don't know how people have a 7 day memory.

Remember during COVID when they were shafting people? The Dealers were adding Added Dealer Markup and companies like Ford said that they were going to take action but that was all BS. Well I hope those brands whose dealer felt like abusing customers, PAY THE PRICE NOW.

7:20 the fact that they expect you to pay "new car" prices on a 2023 is ridiculous. The second you drive it off the lot you're not just losing on the fact that it is used, but it's already a year old used. ANY 2023 vehicle should be discounted a min of 20% off msrp.

A base trime pickup in 4wd should not be more then 35,000 dollars. It was not that long ago prices reflected that. Inflation and price gauging is increasing while wages are stagnating.

My first home cost $90k in 1986… some how trucks cost more than that, 10 years later I sold it for $162,000, let’s see a truck do that! Trucks are perishable items, 50k is still to much….

Toyota broke the cardinal rule of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". I think Toyota's new engines may be holding the sales back. I mean let's face it, those million miles engines were the best selling point for Toyota.

I just bought probably the cleanest 2008 Chevy Tahoe in Massachusetts for $13,000 cash private deal. I’ve put after tax’s including a $900 mass tea tax about $3,500 into it to make it nearly as clean as it was off the assembly line. Runs amazing shifts flawless stops on a dime and the front end handling after $1,200 in parts is almost too tight now. The paint is immaculate the interior immaculate minute a crack in the dash I can fix for $400. $16,500 for an suv that’s payed off looks brand new vs an $85,000 Tahoe. I’ll take mine every time.

Man I had 30k 2 years ago to pick up a truck here in Michigan 30k cash money and every single dealer I went to told me we don’t want your cash we would rather you make payments. When I told them I wouldn’t be doing that BS again because I lost my last truck because I stupid enough to think I could make 500 dollar payments for 6 years. They just laughed at me when I told them I lost my truck with just 1 year of payments left one told me I was just living beyond my means. Smh I’m actually kinda laughing my ass off at them now. Nobody can afford 70+ dollar trucks who do they think they are kidding. Who knows maybe I’ll try to pick up another one next year I managed to save up enough money to try again.

All of the deal ships and their manufactures are nuts. I remember about a decade ago, that cars and trucks were getting at to expensive then. Now, it is insane. Most of these prices , a person can put a good down payment on a house., that probably won't depreciate . A car or a truck actually depreciates about 20% the minute you drive it off the lot.

I have a 2021 Silverado. It has been in the shop for 5 months because of engine issues. Covered under warrant. They cant fix it. They refuse to repurchase it. Ive spoken with over 10 people now that have had the same issue. They have all had to trade it in and buy a new truck. Chevy has been putting out trash and won't recall it to fix the issue with lifters & cam. DO NOT BUY A CHEVY--stay away from them. GM is refusing to repurchase the vehicle. I recently contacted an attorney. If you google the issue, there are tons of videos on the issue and how Chevy won't fix the problem.
