Would you ever drive a plug-in hybrid minivan? Do you like Pacifica? Would you drive a hybrid minivan? Thanks! Jeff

I have a 2021 Pacifica Hybrid Touring L. It’s been a great vehicle, very dependable and versatile…rarely need gas. We just did a 1,400 vacation road trip, 34.4 mpg overall and very comfortable. So glad I didn’t spend the $20k+ more for a BEV!

Bought one in WI and drove it to Las Vegas. Got 200 miles on battery with single charge due to regenerative breaking and driving in regenerative mode through Colorado and Utah. Arrived with 3/4 tank of gas. Been here 2 weeks and just above 1/2 tank left. Great for a commuter vehicle with round trips of 35 miles.

Really a nice looking minivan. I will remain faithful to Toyota. That is pretty decent mileage for a minivan. Thanks for sharing this Jeff! Mark in Iowa.

I'm on the wait-list for a Sienna but have been thinking about the Pacifica hybrid as well. The Chrysler name is a big factor that's making me hesitate then also, non AWD is an issue which the Sienna does give.

So cool, a new 3.5 liter V8.

I would love this vehicle... but too many nightmare reliability stories on Facebook and many complaints about Chrysler Cares as well. If they still offered it in "copper pearl" paint I might just take a chance! Regarding the second row seats; Yes they should come out like they do in a Honda Odyssey... but not stow and go because the batteries are under there.

So the gas engine doesn’t charge the battery?

What does the plug look like? Can it use regular extension cords?
@tealmer3528 Жыл бұрын
The included one that will charge in 14 hours (overnight) just plugs in to a normal outlet, and works with extension cords as long as they have the ground (third) slot, just like a laptop charger. (I've used extension cords on my 2021 Pacifica Hybrid) If you want to charge in 2 hours, which is really not necessary unless you want to save that extra little bit on gas to go to the grocery store, you'd have to get an electrician to come out, and all-in-all it'll cost you around $800 to set up. They'll have to run a new circuit. But if you're okay with 14 hour charging, you don't need anything new. Just a standard wall outlet. Also, once you factor in the $7,500 federal income tax credit you get for the car in, it actually costs the same as the gas-only version. But the gas-only version gets 22mpg, and this one gets 30mpg even if you never plug it in.

I have a 65-mile commute, if I charge every night I would have to refuel after about 900 miles, so about every 14 work days. That would not included in-town errands that could be all EV, so I could push it to over a 1000 miles before having to refuel! PHEV is a very interesting platform.

battery lifespan?
@tealmer3528 Жыл бұрын
Generally modern batteries make it to around 200,000 miles; the warranty on the hybrid system, including the battery, is 10 years / 100,000 miles.

@tealmer3528 Жыл бұрын
30mpg if you never plug it in (compared to 22mpg on the gas-only version) but if you plug it in and drive close to home you won't use a single drop.

I think I would prefer the non-hybrid. This hybrid is just not a good hybrid. Only Toyota makes good hybrids. Other than that, this is a great driving van.

How about if you get a warranty of 8 years or 160000 km whatever comes first
@toronado455 Жыл бұрын
@@realisticvlogging3797 Not if I have to make use of that warranty on a regular basis. It's reliability I want. If my car is at the dealership service dept all the time, it's a major inconvenience, even if they are paying the bill.
