My statement on the Harrison blowover was that the reason it was able to fly the fuck away was possibly mainly due to the side skirt tucking in behind the wheel well and it just caught air almost like Kenseth in 2016 without as much damage that Kenseth had when he blewover

They don't even have side skirts, thats part of the one piece underbody. That thing took off all on its own at under 150mph.

@@TwistedToe thats what im saying. i kept seeing back tires and the sides of cars lifting off the ground after they had hit the wall or locked the tires up for a good couple seconds. we are going to see some crazy shit these season.

The 18 also got small air. Actually we’re lucky there wasn’t several flips cause a lot of cars got a few inches off the ground in spins like Joey it just wasn’t noticeable as much. Is they all were hit they would’ve flew over tho. How Harrison car flipped was too easy. Side flips are gonna be really common I feel like now. Maybe not rear flips since February have the diffuser flap, but side flips are gonna be quite often. Idk man just I worry about tracks like Atlanta and autoclub and Michigan now. Places you wouldn’t really think of flips, but they are way more possible now then in a long time. Harrison’s car flip like they did in the 90s. It honestly isn’t that great knowing that. Also the amount of how bad these cars seem to crash now. They are either way too stiff it seems in places and way too thing in others like body panels kinda just fly off and Windows fly out from crashes. They also have the issue of the rear suspension just coming apart, and they have the issue of no inner liners so the cars just high side now really bad so when something goes wrong they have almost 0 control of the car. Idk man how some of these can be easily fixed either. I mean all the drivers seemed to have alot more movement then they should in crashes like Denny was barley getting hit and he looked like was was in a pinball machine. I hope I’m wrong, but these things don’t seem that safe anymore or as they once were. We are only doing like 195 and alot of hard hits that was like they were from 20 years ago vrs now. I didn’t like joeys duel wreak either. For how little he hit the wall it look so hard and the cars don’t crunch as much they stick. Just I hope I’m wrong man and I really hope this all gets resolved. Stuff just like rims falling apart seems like an issue. I think Bristol will have rear end failures with kinda pussy rear ends they have now. G force is a lot at Bristol too who knows maybe a rim will shreds apart. A lot of these changes worry me. People can say what they want, but just the cars stick way more and don’t crash well at all and take hits well. They don’t take forced for shit. I mean Gragson a crash like that a few years ago his car would’ve bounced way more, but it’s almost like it stuck and everyone that hit the wall had a similar instance it seemed. Ik I’ll probably get people saying I’m overreacting, or complain, blah blah blah, but I don’t feel like I am. I feel like this all needs to be addressed and it’s kinda not getting mentioned much at all.

There were numerous other wrecks that could have caused a flip, but didnt. Yet here we are focusing on Burton. Gragsons and Gillilands car didnt fly away and into the fence and we should be happy about that and applaud NASCAR for that. I'd rather have a lazy blowover on the backstretch than a car taking flight on the front stretch.

Absolutely. Every race, every incident are more data points that can be used to make the cars safer. Sill early days and with the kinds of hits that we have seen in the first 3 weeks, it looks like there are plenty of positives about the initial safety of the cars

I was pissed when I realized work had caused me to miss Daytona. Not big enough into it to watch every race but I wanted to atleast watch the start of the season. I can't really watch every race anyway since I work on Sundays at the exact time races are ongoing. Oh well, guess I'll have to wait till late April for Tally. Will still be at work but we're a bar and it's spring so we shouldn't be too busy.
