Why is this paper a lot harder than the other as papers I’ve practiced??

The 2022 papers were particularly difficult since they had the same difficulty as the 2021 papers which were made harder since advanced information was given but for 2022 there was no advanced information resulting in very difficult papers.

For Q13 B I did it so that I get 3Sin2x +sin2x -2=0 and when I put the polynomial into my calculator I get 2/3 as u did and -1 and then on the mark scheme it says -1 aswell but why is -1 not accepted so you do sin^-1(-1) to get 90 for 2x then divide by 2 to get 45 which is in the range of 0-90

Surely for 11b you could just find the points of intersection between the perpendicular line and the circle and pick the lower x coordinate?

If for question 14 you used proof by induction (which u learn in AS FM) would you get all the marks?

Yes, you can use FM techniques in regular maths 👍

why did you differentiate for 12b?

imagine the cost as a graph, to find the turning points (min or max) you would need to differentiate to find when the gradient is zero. so if you differentiate the cost you find the minimum point(cost)

Surely for q8 at 45:47 you haven’t fully differentiated as e should be to the power of -1.5t rather than -0.5t
