Mine comes in two weeks! Black Diamond is the real value trim. It has enough capability to handle everything except the stuff I'd be too afraid to try anyway (maybe after some years of depreciation). $40k for a 4dr soft top manual, not too bad.

I like the Black Diamond for the very reason that a real 4WD doesn't need all the electronic crap you mentioned. Also with the manual it brings back a sense of nostalgia for the "All Wheel Drive" '66 Scout and later, the '70 Bronco I had for deer hunting the rugged coastal mountains near Willits, CA in the 1980s; before I left for law school. Now that I'm retired, this new Bronco would be a great rig for getting into my favorite fly fishing rivers here in N. Cal.

For the windows l just pop the handle wait about a quarter second then open the door. After a few weeks its second nature. Frameless doors are definitely a compromise but so cool. Lots of sixties cars had this design. The auto up down feature is to improve sealing and it does help, it's a challenging design. I personally don't want all the complexity, but you can get blis and lane assist on black diamond as options.

If you follow Bronco much, it's no show car it can hang with the best off-road and plenty are going off road. Of course most will be on road most of the time like Jeep or anything else.

They do it so there doesn't have to be a big electrical connector that's hanging out. Only electrical connector you need is for power locks. Also if you take the drivers door off, and the master switch for the windows is on the driver's door, you won't be able to control the other ones if you need to as a driver. Cause not everybody wants all the doors off at once.

That can't be very good for your starter.

Nope, only Tacoma has that. Well and the Wrangler with a keyed ignition switch. Anything with a start button does not have that feature.

Stick shift with no nanny features would be a breath of fresh air. V6 with no turbo, no power windows, no "infotainment" 🙄 no crawl control driver assist BS and a reasonable starting price would have me lining up for one in a second. Too bad today's helicopter parented youth drivers want everything handed to them and would rather be distracted by their phones than pay attention to the drive. It's the journey, people. NOT the destination.
