2022 Ford Explorer ST-Line Review + Drive! | Budget ST?

This actually looks better than the ST. Dig the red accents and the non digital cluster (the digital cluster is laggy). LOVE the Alcantara inserts, explorer ST should have had those to start with like edge St does. Like the 8" screen, but you can get that on ST. I wish you could get those on a 401a ST, and the 10" screen was a standalone option, not part of the tech package. Only downside for me on the st line is no cooled seats, no heated rear seats, and no turn signals in the mirrors. A little more towing capacity would be nice too, but it's still 2nd best in class behind Durango. 300hp out of the 4 cylinder is plenty for a family car. And this on some steeda springs would.probably be a fun choice. Biggest downside is this loaded is only 8k less than s loaded ST. For 8k more, you may as well get the full ST.

@@JVette01 yeah, but the base ones are underwhelming. 400a just isn't worth the price point, 401a should be standard. Ford just needs an RS model for Explorer.

I got this same exact one in a nice red and at first I thought S line 4 cylinder turbo 🤔🤷🏻 …. But after driving it about a year, this lil dude goes! it’s fun to drive, it’s a sleeper n when I want to chill n save fuel I’ll leave it on eco mode …. I would buy another one if needed

I just bought a ST and I couldn't be happier. The interior is comfy, the handling feels real nimble for its size, and when you hit the pedal you get up and go.

It was nice of ford to bring an st line package to the ford explorer.. the seats look nicer in my opinion than my actual ST but they mest up in going with the visual outside when you get to the rear and see they didn't bother adding the quad tips 😑

The rotors and brakes are different from the ST. I believe ST-Line follows the XLT and Limited as far as brakes and the suspension.

For the Explorer the ST is the way to go. But that Edge ST isn't really an "ST". I wouldn't blame someone for buying the Edge ST Line.

This thing is almost SO close to being perfect. They drastically need to throw the big mach E touch screen in this thing like the new expedition got, and adding the upper/dual glove box would be nice too. Just sucks they don’t offer this in a non third row option, even if you can fold them down.

Nice appearance, cheaper on gas, cheaper price, depends on what your needs are really, it’s nice that ford gave us the options, having said that if I made a little more money and didn’t have to commute as far I’d just get the ST as well lol but I’m still excited to get my ST line next week

Lesson to all- if you’re stepping up your car budget then make the drivetrain the first thing you sink money into. Not a gimmicky appearance package.

It's also nicer than just the regular xlt package. It's got a lot of nicer features some may want over the xlt but don't need to extras the ST has, like myself
