I ordered a 2022 F350 Lariat SRW with the Tremor Package and the 7.3-liter gas engine on 12/1/21 and still do not have a VIN or a build date as of today. Options are LED lights, clearance lights, upfitter switches. Oxford white w Ebony leather

That sounds like an awesome build! I really like white on the Tremor and BAP packages. I’m sure you know already, the cab lights, upfitter switches, and just about every other cool option are all commodity constraints right now. Since you ordered in December, you might have more priority over later builds, but being that Ford is no longer taking Super Duty orders, I would say a lot of people are going to be moved to a 2023. With the way things are right now, I say order early in the build cycle. But sometimes even that doesn’t guarantee anything.

@@beardedautomedia2261 According to the Ford Tremor Forum (website) the average build time from my order date should be about 30 weeks so that puts me out to about mid/late June. I am aware that the clearance lights and upfitter switches are slowing my build down but I really don't want to have to have those installed as aftermarket. I already deleted the spray-in bed liner and the hard folding tonneau cover as I can have LineX done locally and I decided to get a Leer cap instead of the folding cover. Fingers crossed. Thanks for writing back to me.

Hey, I just appreciate you watching! Thanks for the insight. I didn’t realize that the normal Tremor build time was 30 weeks. Very interesting. I don’t blame you for deleting those items…and not going aftermarket for the cab lights. But, hopefully yours gets built and shipped to you before they turn production over to 2023s in June/July! I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you too!

I ordered a 2022 Ford F250 Lariat with the Godzilla engine. This was back on January 15, 2022. Still no Vin number. Just recently purchased a 2020 F250 with the 6.2. Got it real cheap with 14000 miles. I plan on flipping this new order if it ever comes in.

Great plan! Those 6.2s are hard to beat in reliability! Since you ordered in January, I’m sure they confirmed your order. Unfortunately, depending on your options, if they haven’t scheduled you yet, you may be flipped to a 2023 model year at this point.

I ordered a '22 F250 Platinum , 7.3 Gas, 8 ft box, added just a few things- cab lts, dual batteries/HD alternator, upfitter switches, and plow prep. I also got the "Rapid Red" color which I was unsure about but now that I have it I LOVE the color! Was originally going to get AntiMatter Blue as well but it can look SO close to black in some light and decided to get the Red. I Placed the order on Dec 1st '21, got a confirmation that day, vin # and production date the next day. Was built Feb 3rd, in my garage on Feb 12. Took 10 weeks, 2 days to get it which, given the trim level of the platinum, I thought it was pretty good. The price went up $1,300 after ordering but the dealer honored what we agreed upon so I was happy about that. I found out several things while on my search for a truck. Some dealers just don't have the "allocation" for getting trucks. I went to the closest dealer to me, he's been waiting on some trucks over 6 months, and showed me a letter from Ford that showed a "30 week build time" on all Super Duty trucks". He also told me Ford refused an order of 4 trucks he tried placing an d he was told to reorder them as '23 model year, yet the dealer I went to said 12-16 weeks average!? I also found out some options can DELAY the truck, in some cases 12 weeks or more JUST because of the options. Apparently Ford outsources the spray in bedliner, tonneau covers, etc, and they were having problems supplying those things. Also was told the blackout package, (partially due to bedliner is part of it) will add time to your order, thoughI also just saw a video saying Ford was pushing through bedliners if it was "part of another package" such as the blackout pack. I will say this after only having the truck a few weeks- EVERYTHING works and fits as it's supposed to. ZERO things wrong with it as far as I can tell- The fit and finish is near perfect, no flaws in the paint, all the options work and it's basically as good as anyone could ever expect.Honestly the only thing I found on the entire truck is a small wrinkle in one of the decals under the hood on the core support.

Great info! I love Rapid Red as well, but I prefer Antimatter BECAUSE it flips to black. It’s a great conversation starter, for sure. It’s hard to say what exactly causes some trucks to have shorter build times than others. All I can say is, find a good dealer who orders and sells a lot of Super Dutys and order the trims and packages Ford is most likely to produce.

Ordered my Platinum with the 6.7 back on the 19th of January. Unfortunately, I get more info online from forums and KZbin than I do from my dealer. I live in a small town so they don't really try that hard to get things moving faster. I have a priority code 19 as well and Have not heard a single word on when the production date will be. Happy to see others are having better success though. Things I took off my build that would have pushed the build back to 2023 are Adaptive Steering, 5th Wheel prep, and spray in bedliner.

I really think that’s the way everyone feels. It’s an awesome community for sharing information, and even though a lot of it is just speculation, it helps pass the time. Dealing with a small dealer can be a double-edged sword, but I’m not sure the size of the dealer makes as much a difference as the willingness to contact reps and push status updates. I think most, if not all, retail orders start as PC 19. Mine started there and got bumped up to PC 12 after about a week. Highest I’ve seen on a retail order is PC 2. That was done by our regional rep. As for taking off features, that will only buy a spot until they change over to the 23. I think even it’s picked up as a 22 and scheduled, you may get flipped to a 23.
@TeeCamp10
@TeeCamp10 3 жыл бұрын
@@beardedautomedia2261 You nailed it, the willingness to get information and pass it down to us is pretty rare from my dealer. The lady handling my order mentioned she no longer has access to anyone who can bump up the priority on a retail order. There is apparently someone above the regional rep that can but she does not have any contact with that person. I am just going to have to play the waiting game. I have seen a price increase happen recently and am afraid more will come. But luckily I have X-plan pricing that eats up some of that.
@beardedautomedia2261
@beardedautomedia2261 3 жыл бұрын
I’m sure your dealer is probably being told that bumping priority is a no-go conversation. I’m guessing they’re having too many reps trying to push things ahead and it’s creating more harm than good. It’s really the epitome of a waiting game. Have you discussed using the X-Plan PIN on your order? If not, I would call them immediately. It looks like Dealers don’t necessarily have to honor AXZD plans right now due to demand. You may want to make sure they’ll let you use it! If not, find a dealer who will and re-order!

I recently ordered my truck, it will my first truck ever. The market for new or used vehicles is stupid high and felt like building one will eliminate paying for stuff that you don't need. Ironically, I decided to go with truck sorely for looks. I don't tow or carry anything, I don't even own a trailer. On 01/26/22, I went to the dealership and ordered a white 2022 F-350 Lariat 4x2 7.3L, I decided not to go with the LED headlights because it would had cost me $4200 and I can buy premium aftermarket LED headlights for $2000. I did add a sunroof just because aftermarket value was similar. The next day, 01/27/22 I received an email verifying my order. 11 days later, on 02/10/22 I received an email with my VIN number and a date for built production day, which was the week of March 21. 5 days later, on 02/15/22 I received another email notifying that the date for built production was moved to March 14. I have hardly seen any KRs in Antimatter! I hope you get it because that would be an awesome combo. I haven’t heard about any shutdowns currently, but definitely production cuts. You never know, it could absolutely still get built. What made you choose the KR trim??

I ordered a Super Duty and am canceling the order, not worth the wait. Hopefully Ford will learn something if everyone cancels their orders! They’re terrible at keeping customers informed on the process, seems like they really don’t care. I’ll take my $80K elsewhere.

I definitely get that. I think if my process hadn’t started picking up I would have looked at other options. I know plenty of people in your shoes who are dropping orders, but that creates more supply for the remaining orders. Ford likely won’t shed many tears over that. It is disappointing that it’s happening so often though. But who knows! Maybe your production will kick off before you pull the plug!

Nice! I just ordered last week. Still awaiting a VIN. F-350 Lariat 4x4 Crew, LWB, 7.3L, 4.30 gears, Star white, black appearance package, FX4. Ditching my 2020 Ram 3500 Bighorn Cummins.

Thanks for checking out the video! That is gonna be one beautiful truck! I’m starting to wonder if I shouldn’t have bumped up to a 350 myself, but I also don’t see myself exceeding a 250s capacity anytime soon. Crazy to hear you’re giving up your Cummins for the 7.3!

@@beardedautomedia2261 Your F-250 is awesome. I'm sure it will serve you well. The Cummins is beautiful but with 9300 miles the emissions left us counting down to limp mode far from home on a long trip. We stood to miss an expensive weekend and contacted 4 Ram dealers before anyone would even help us. 4th dealer had us on the road in a couple hours. It was a DEF related issue that luckily did not require parts. The Ram is a beautiful truck but we venture off grid into mountainous terrain and I don't trust the emissions anymore. I'm reluctant to delete for several reasons. On our routine 16 hour trips we do well to average 12mpg (not towing but 1800lbs in the bed), and use 5-6 gallons of DEF. Well I'm sure I can get close to that mpg from the 7.3 without all the expense and hassle associated with diesel. Diesel is overkill for our needs (we're unlikely to ever tow over 8000lbs) but the price was right just before Covid. We were really back and forth at the time of purchase between gas or diesel. The resale value of my Ram is now awesome and it felt impulsive but the timing seemed right to pull the trigger and get the truck that is best suited to our needs that we can be comfortable keeping long term. There's always chance of a mechanical failure with any vehicle, but at least there won't be a "xxx miles to disable vehicle" countdown timer over a fake issue not pertinent to the actual operational of the vehicle. I can deal with a legitimate failure but tough to stomach that government mandated garbage.

What did you not like about the ram just curious? In my opinion the rams interior destroys the fords I ordered a f350 as well scheduled to be built in 2 weeks

@@austin2187 On long trips we found the Ram seats extremely hard. My wife has some lower back issues and the 2 Fords we have owned previously were more comfortable. I looked at an XLT but had to step into a Lariat to get full power passenger seat with Lumbar. This was easily remedied with cushions however. Here's a copy and paste from my reply to Beard Auto Media regarding my reasons for changing trucks: "The Cummins is beautiful but with 9300 miles the emissions left us counting down to limp mode far from home on a long trip. This is an all-time explanation man…and I really appreciate you taking the time to share that with us. I was in between a ‘22 Cummins and this F-250 when I pulled the trigger on my Ford order. It was really hard to go away from Ram for the first time in my life, but I’m really excited for the new chapter. I always had a lingering fear of the issues you had with your Cummins, and that’s the ultimate reason that I decided to stick with gas. Plus, diesel prices are going through the roof right now and maintenance is a cost that I can’t justify with my use.
