One of the videos installing the MRT struts, showed marking the bracket with tape to ensure alignment of the hood. Looks like the RedLine are less complicated. Thanks Carl.

I'm leaning towards buying this Redline over the MRT simply because of the alignment issue. I think with Redline, you don't have to loosen both screws on the hood that can alter the alignment of the hood. There's only one screw needed to connect the bracket, so the other screws holds the hood in place. Thank you cs92lx for the upload.

So much better than the MRT struts since you only remove one bolt from the hood on each side. No worries about alignment

I rec. my Redline hood strut for my maverick on this Thursday and install on Friday and I love it. Now I can check the oil level and antifreeze level with out using the prop rod.

Hood struts are nice, but don't ever get rid of that prop rod..... eventually the struts will go out and will need to be replaced

I didn't calculate it but I would estimate around four inches or so.

Hi. I’m working on installing these struts. The driver side hood piece turned out fine I think. I am struggling with the passenger side. It doesn’t sit correctly. Can anyone help please. I have a couple of photos but I don’t know how to post them.
