Hey guys! Mr dark needs to be left in the up position. He will strip his gears if he is left in the down position because the springs put so much force on the gears that they will strip out and break. Contact spirit for a new part, and leave him in the position that should keep him good. Hope I could help!

All I think you need to do is replace the gear and greace it up. If the wiring is wrong you might need to buy a new one

Love your haunt! We have a Mr Dark that we bought already broken to see if we could fix it. My husband found that there is a belt or band that was factory installed and was very flimsy inside the white gear box. It stretched out too much. My husband went to Home Depot and bought these O-rings...Danco #67, 13/16" OD x 11/16" ID x 1/16" item # 96784. The band was attached to the little wheel or pulley on the motor & goes to a bigger pulley. Once my husband changed the band, our guy worked all evening! Good luck! I can't wait to see what you come up with next year!! ⚜🎃🤡
