The 2022 Giant Cypress is a great bike for city or campus commuting, trail riding, or just leisurely rides. It has lots of adjustability and quality components making it a great value for the price!

This is an amazing bike and it has everything I need. Love the shifters, love sitting upright, love the brakes, love the color, love the shape, the weight, the tires, the feel. It's a perfect bike all around in my opinion and I put well over 3,000 mi on it at this point and still love it. I was looking at everything including the Trek Verve and this blew it away for way less money. I do think it's a good bike for most anyone but if you have neck or back issues need to set up right then this is absolutely without a doubt your bike.

Great comment! By the way, how does it compare with Cypress 3? I am in the position of choosing between the two models.

I just picked up my Cypress 2 yesterday and took it for my 7.8 loop ride today. The local shop took my 2 older bikes on trade. I'm 70, 5' 10" and 185 lbs. I didn't need a road bike with drop down handlebars or a 27speed mountain bike anymore. I was only using about 5 speeds and 1 sprocket. There are no mountains in FL! I wanted comfort, and the Cypress 2 provides plenty of that. bike rides beautifully and is everything I need. The frame is a large. I'm ready to try it on some gravel surfaces where I'm sure it will excel. If you want a comfortable road bike that can handle moderate trails, this could be the one for you...

I bought a Cypress DX a few years ago, as I live in Detroit and we were shut down during the pandemic. I absolutely love mine. I usually do 20 mile rides, and it’s a joy with every single mile!!!

I bought a Cypress 1 several months ago and I love it. More than enough gears for me, (I grew up with 10 speed schwinns back in the day)and the suspension makes riding a pleasure. I am sure it is the last bike I will need. I enjoyed your review!

@@TroyandAndrea It seems like this would be a heavy Bike. How much does it weigh?
@TroyandAndrea

@@jeffreykaufmann2867 I am not sure, didn't weigh it - but it was easy to pick up and put on my car rack. If you are worried about weight, then this is probably not the bike for you. What I can tell you is that is was very EASY and enjoyable for both Andrea and me to ride. Thanks for watching.

@@TroyandAndrea I'm not worried about weight cause I already have the Giant Fastroad Advance 1 which is very light and built for speed. Im looking for a more comfortable 2nd bike where Speed isn't important.

Thanks for the great review. I was frustrated with the lack of reviews on this bike. I live in Pace so I love that you guys are from the area. I ended up buying the bike. Fantastic! I was impressed with the gearing and shifting. I also love how they sized the lowest and highest gears so you don't lose that range that you get with a 2x or 3x drivetrain. And on the lowest gear you are pedaling air so you can most definitely tackle inclines. I got the Garnet and it looks amazing.

Can this bike be modified with a two chain ring setup? I don’t think low gear is “granny” enough for climbs
@TroyandAndrea

The Cypress DX comes with a 2x chainring, so I suppose you could certainly upgrade. Or perhaps look into the Escape as an option. Thanks for watching!

Does the fork "lockout" on this model? I know the Roam had one that did. Not sure if the Cypress or Escape right now...or the Roam.
@TroyandAndrea
@TroyandAndrea Жыл бұрын
No, it doesn’t really lock out. It just dampens more. My breakdown: Roam for more fitness and serious riding. Escape for commuting. Cypress for just cruising. Thanks for watching!

I am happy to see hybrids now coming with 1xs. They’re far easier to use for beginner riders, and with a 46T, will have plenty of range. Advent is great. I have done two builds with Advent 9-speed. It’s solid. In fact, the bike I rode on that trail was Advent 9-speed with drop bar shifters.
