Hi, Really liked this video and my local bike store had the exact one you tested. I had a Gary Fisher Paragon that I bought back in 1996, and sadly last summer it was crushed in rear-end car crash, so when I saw your video, I was sold on the Giant Cypress and bought it with the insurance payout. I noticed your helmet mirrors, I've never used one before but thinking of getting one now. Any recommendations on which one to buy? I like how yours looks. Can you send me the URL on that one. Thanks...

Do you think when you install a bottle holder just like you did, it drags the bike a lot the bike with the wind? Or it is an insignificant difference. I travel on the asphalt with many cars passing by, so I am a bit worried about the wind resistance.

I just picked up a used 21' Talon E+ 3 29er for my 70 year old father. I think it should be a GREAT bike for him! Word to the wise - it's probably worth getting the manufacturer's app and investigating the bike more before proceeding with purchase (or have the current owner send it to you.) Reason I say this - is the used Talon E+ I just bought supposedly had "250 miles to school and back" allegedly according to the seller. She was the mother of the owner, and it has been several years since purchase so I'll give her that .. Pull up the app however when I got home, and the data shows the bike has been ridden 1100 miles! Quite a bit of difference which would have certainly affected the final sale price. Always do your homework!

Great controller. Crap, brittle, not fit for purpose bracket which mounts the controller onto the handlebar, which will snap and break at the first opportunity. The app is at best hit and miss. What works, work what doesn’t work, doesn’t!
@TroyandAndrea3 ай бұрын
@@JohnChristopher-k7u Yeah, I broke one on a different model bike. Bummer. There are a few different mounting brackets, so it depends which one is more breakable. But, the dealer had it fixed asap, so that was good. The app has a long history of version updates, so it might depend on an update … but apps are never perfect. Thanks for your comments.
@JohnChristopher-k7u3 ай бұрын
@@TroyandAndrea “Different mounting brackets”? That’s news to me. In the time I’ve had my 2019 Giant Fathom E+ 3 29er, I’ve destroyed 4 brackets, two of them out of warranty. I’ve now ended up doing a gorilla fix, using a spare bit of inner tube and a couple of zip ties to secure my controller to my handlebar. It’s far from ideal but it’s better than returning my bike to the shop every three months and spending another £100 on something that shouldn’t have snapped in the first place.
@TroyandAndrea3 ай бұрын
@@JohnChristopher-k7u Yes, a few other model bikes had a little different bracket. But I agree, it shouldn’t have snapped in the first place - definitely an area to improve design.
