2022 Gun Laws and Concealed Carry Reciprocity in California

I was in law enforcement in the early 70s for a few years. I recently just put in for a CCW and ran across this channel with some good information and pleasant viewing with two lovely young ladies who never hurt the learning environment.

@Jetic Xepent That means your police agency must issue an applicant a CCWL if they have no criminal background.

@@Xepent This is a very big deal and worth looking into. Basically there are 3 types of states, May-issue, Shall-issue and Constitutional Carry. May-issue is what 6 states had until the Bruen decision. This is that the Sheriff "may-issue" a license based on how they felt that day. It is totally Subjective and can be racist, biased etc. Even brides were going on in these states. Shall-issue. is basically how drivers license work. It is based on Objective information only. Constitutional carry did away with license all together and if you can legally own a handgun you can legally carry it.

I am in the process of getting my CÁ CCW. You need to have patience and lots of cash but not that hard as long as very clean past.

@@ConcealedCoalition The laws seem sorta vague on CCW in a vehicle. I have read them numerous times and still confused. Do you believe you can carry a loaded gun on you while driving a car in California as long as you have your CCW? I cannot even get attorneys to answer that question. I was actually going to ask a police officer next time I see one.

Reciprocity? No other state accepts CAs CCW unless you make prior arrangements and pay that states fees. Also SHALL issue state.

In 2005 Texas Governor Rick Perry wrote into Law allowing Cali. CCW carriers in Texas. I believe Cali. So far has not reciprocated. Too Bad.

@@ConcealedCoalitionwell. They don’t honor any-other states permits and don’t let people from out of state get a California permit. A handful of states honor California’s permit but even carrying a California legal firearm from another state you’re supposed to keep it locked and inaccessible, report it to DOJ and can’t carry any ammunition or even empty magazines over 10 rounds. 🤷‍♂️

Hey Danniel! While the required age for pistol purchase is 21, the age requirement for long guns is 18 with a valid unexpired hunting license issued by the Department of Fish and Wildlife ((Pen. Code, § § 26800-26850.). We apologize for the confusion.
