Have you seen the kind kingdom with the peaceful press, you use the chronicles of Narnia with the curriculum. We did playful pioneers and my kids loved it. Very charlotte mason and affordable!

For sure! I think it would work for a huge range of ages but I'll report back once we've actually started using it. :)

We use it and you could use it for any age, I even get a lot out of it as an adult. It's so easy to adapt for different ages, especially if you pair it with a blank nature notebook. There are way more activities than you would do at once, so you can use it year after year and choose different books and activities each time!

When they ship TGTB science, it doesn’t come bound and prepped. You still have to do all the cutting and binding. 🤷🏼‍♀️

How long in a day do you listen to SOTW? My kinders are so busy. But my older 2 can definitely do it.

We do it once a week and the audio recordings are usually under 10 minutes. :)

We use GATB science as well. I like the printed/shipped ones for quality. Honestly I don’t find the prep that bad (after prepping all of All About Reading). It takes a few hours to copy, cut and organize but I put all the activity things in clear sheet protectors (one per lesson), and hole punch the instruction pages. It fits nicely in a 1-1.5 inch binder. ✨ looking forward to hear how it goes

I’m so thankful for your previous recommendation for SOTW audio. It was a game changer for us. We have fallen in love with Jim Weiss as well! I would agree that TGATB science is tedious to organize even if you buy a physical version. I honestly don’t know if it would be any easier. I still had to sort out a bunch of stuff, figure out what needed to be copied for multiple children and cut out a bunch of pieces. It took me several days of dedicated work to prep mammals. I read the Green Ember series (including the mini books) myself and loved them. I can’t wait to introduce them to my kids. I’m just worried they are a little too much action for my boys yet. 😂 I’m seriously debating when to start Narnia as well!

Love that you’re using Bible stories by Arthur Maxwell! We do Uncle Arthur’s bedtime stories for bedtime and my kids love it. They’re 4, 6, and 8. We have Bible stories too I never thought of using it as a kind of Bible curriculum. Thank you for the idea. Also I just love watching all your videos and seeing what you’re doing with your kids! ♥️

Could you expand your thoughts on books for kids that aren't read alouds? How do you choose books that are a good level and the type of material you want them to read? I can see doing that as the read alouds, but when you have a voracious reader I can barely keep up with good quality books!

This is a stage we are only just entering as my son is just beginning to be more motivated to read on his own. I've bought the Hey Jack series for him but I'm sure I'll share more as time goes on. :)

Our kids are the same age and TGTB Arthropod unit was a huge hit. We love Exploring Nature w/ Children. My kids have really enjoyed Classical Kids CD’s as part of our composer study. They have some of the most popular compositions and weave stories about the composer throughout. Thanks for suggesting Ambleside for resources for composers. I’ve been eyeing the SCM ones but don’t really won’t to spend the money. I’ll def have to check out the hymn study you’re doing I’ve been on the hunt for one. Love your read alouds, so exciting!

I love ur idea for history. I’m hoping to do nature studies with my youngest!!! I believe TGTB science has to be prepped if u get it in the mail. We’ve only got the pdfs. We use KZbin for Aussie day learning!!! We don’t use a art curriculum but I’ve not found that we need one, my kids do it themselves from their studies, my youngest just thinks of art projects and I’m good at ideas for that age group!!! We didn’t read Narnia in order. I can’t wait to read Narnia to my youngest daughter.

Isn't it awesome when you can use the same books your mom used? My impression of the TGTB science units is that they do take a good bit of prep...which is a big hesitation to me because I know myself, and I like low-prep. haha! I've never heard of Yellow Spot: Sun before, but that art program looks really cool!
