Question. I just purchased a 2022 Civic Si. I must admit I don’t know anything about tuning cars or the process. I’ve watched a few videos of yours and have found them to be helpful and informative. It seems like Ktuner is the way to go. Do you have any videos on installing or setting up the Ktuner? Also are there any negatives or potential costly problems that could arise from doing this? Why doesn’t Honda tune the cars like this from the jump? Forgive my questions if they seem silly just trying to learn about the process and decide if it’s something I want to do or am even capable of with my limited knowledge of the process. Thanks in advance!
@MitchMc912 жыл бұрын
I don’t have any myself, I could make one but there’s a few videos on here by KTuner and other KZbinrs going step by step flashing the car, it’s a fairly easy process. Clutch would be the first thing to worry about since it’s pretty weak from the factory. Honda did tune it a little more aggressive than the 10thgen SI which is rated at 205hp vs 200hp but the 11th seems to consistently make 10-15whp more stock for stock
@Itsjustanelantra2 жыл бұрын
Love the video, I'm from New Brunswick and I'm happy with what Honda did this year to the 11th gen civic si, yes it made 5hp down from the 10th gen but they've made dyno pulls and it ended up making more then the 10th gen. Once the performance shops will start doing parts for these cars they'll be quite impressed to see

I cannot wait to see what the aftermarket brings, I’m coming from a gtx2860 10thgen SI so I’m hoping there’s going to be a little more headroom in this platform! I think exterior and interior they knocked it out of the park, my favourite SI since my 8thgen SI

@@MitchMc91 There's a guy that said the new 1.5 engine had some slight difference in the bottom end from the 10th gen and the crank was heavier and counterweighted similar to the 1.5 turbo accord engine. Also the rod journal where sized up to 4mm and the bearings where larger as well
@MitchMc912 жыл бұрын
@@Itsjustanelantra yeah Eman documented that on his IG and probably FB as well. I’m wondering if the 2 port head is going to flow slightly better than the single exhaust port head of the 10thgen and I’m curious if there’s any updates on the HPFP and Injectors… hopefully there’s more headroom🤞🏼

I have a 10th Gen running the Phearable 1.5R tune and you're exactly right about the crash in power. It's pulls like a beast down low but then it just feels like it falls off the higher up you go in the revs.
@MitchMc912 жыл бұрын
I had my 10thgen with boltons/tune before I did the PRL kit and that’s exactly how it felt, the 11thgen feels like it wants to rev and seems to pull to redline or it’s very flat where you don’t feel that crash up top

@MitchMc912 жыл бұрын
I don’t think the turbos will be an issue, they’re different than the 10thgens which some had issues for people running ~28psi. I haven’t seen anyone with issues on lower boost like the 21-23 maps on the 10thgen platform but we’ll see as people test the 11th. The clutch for sure is an issue on both platforms and is a must upgrade when running the more aggressive maps

@@sertyuhg i highly suggest phearable 1.5 over tsp, especially if you’re on the stock clutch. Tsp has more potential to damage your engine and clutch due to boost coming on so early.
