I just hit 14K miles on my 2022 Honda Insight EX (Cosmic Blue) and all I can say is I’m in love. I hit about 60-62 mpg which gives me about 610-650 per tank and I only usually pay for 9 gallons usually haha. But I’m the winter since I’m in Washington I get about 49-52 mpg so I’m running about 545-580. This car is amazing and I would recommend it to everyone and you should get it before they run out because production stopped due to the reintroduction of the Honda Civic Hybrid in 2023.

Thanks for the video. With the current gas prices, I'm even more grateful to have a Honda Insight 2020. I replaced the stock wheels with a black ones and added a spoiler. It looks very nice, not fancy but just a decent looking car lol. Before covid, it was like $20 something to fill up, now it's like $30 something and it can go up to around 420 miles. My Tahoe is like $90-$100 to fill up and a Toyota Camry Hybrid is around $60. Too bad, they're facing out the Insight. Either not too many people bought it or it has to do with the amount of sensors the car has.

I wanted one b/c of the gas mileage. but if you're saying its pushing 420, then I dunno. I had a 21 Camry XSE and she was pushing 437 and it was not a hybrid, so hmmmm....something to think about I guess. They both expensive far as insurance. but if the Camry is pushing more than a hybrid, then I'm going back to the Camry.
@isi123452 жыл бұрын
@@marilynnscorner345 420-450 miles depending on how full you fill it. Also the Honda insight is a 10gallon fuel tank. The Camry XSE is a 15.8 gallon tank. If the insight had that size, it would go up to 630 miles. I’ve rented a few 2022 Toyota Camry hybrid and they’re no where near the mpg of the Honda Insight.

@@isi12345 ok that makes sense. I’m also looking at the rav4 hybrids. Going to check out an XSE rav4 hybrid tomorrow. So we’llsee how that goes.

I feel like the Insight is the forgotten gem in the Honda lineup. I’ll see one on the road every now and again, but it seems to be overlooked for the most part.

Its over shadowed by the Civic, yet it only gets 30+ MPG vs. the Insight's 50+ MPG. The Sport Trim is the most popular Civic model and that is almost the same price as the Insight EX. So if your going to spend 25K+, you might as well get the benefits of a Hybrid and go Insight over the Civic. Interestingly enough, in Europe they plan to bring the Civic Hybrid back, unsure if it will come to the U.S. because of the Insight. I plan to buy a 2022 Insight EX now instead of a Civic Sport, they are virtually the same price range and I can't wait around for a possible Civic Hybrid U.S. release a year or so from now.

@@FANtomCore An Insight EX seems like a good route to take, and I imagine many of the Honda dealers are offering some type of deal on them. I have an Accord V6, so my invite to the fuel economy party is revoked lol, but I’d love some type of manual hybrid from Honda, like first (03-05) Civic Hybrid.

This engine is a 1.5L, but it doesn't have a turbo charger. It's normally aspirated.

I just hope the 4th gen insight is a hatchback like the 2nd gen Insight and the new Integra Edit: It seems that the Insight will get replaced by Civic Hybrid. Hope that will be a hatch.

you're saying 55 in the city 49 on the highway. it's the other way around, right? you said that twice.

Better in the city ..as mine is. In stop and go I can use regenerative braking on the steering wheel paddles. It works like a reverse dynamo to supply an extra charge to the electric motor.

@@zl1David yeah makes sense! i've been driving my new one since last week and already averaging 49.4 in the city. so I was wondering about the regenrative braking cause I was a bit confused about it.
