I'm here just seeing what's new on the Odyssey. I have a 2008 Odyssey EXL that I bought with 20.8 miles that now has 191,680'ish miles as of today. I bought it when my oldest was three and baby #2 was just born. Ironically, my oldest is now driving it and the van is still going strong. It has three more kids to have learn to drive on it so hopefully it last through them! I cannot recommend an Odyssey more for you all starting a family and need a people hauler. I kid you not when I tell you everything...literally everything under the hood is still original. Same starter, same alternator, nothing has needed to be replaced out side of maintenance like the timing belt, water pump etc. The engine is bone dry and not a drop of oil has ever been on the drive-way. The 3.5L V6 is such a great motor that I bought a 2017 Accord Touring V6 just so I could have another vehicle with that engine in it. IMHO its the best V6 motor ever built. Now, the front end components have all been replaced and I've replaced the SV joints twice but overall its been incredibly reliable. Now, I do live in Texas and its been a Florida and Texas vehicle its entire life so there isn't a spec of rust anywhere on it. I'm sure that's been part of its ability to last. Anyway, definitely get you a Odyssey and IMHO don't go super fancy. Get an EX-L. Get the leather so you can easily clean the seats but save your money on the other stuff. I'm glad we went with the EX-L and did not spend the extra for the Touring. Cheers!

This van has the most room! We took a road trip with 5 people in the front 2 rows, and flattened the bench seats in the 3rd row to have room for 2 large dogs and even some of our belongings fit in the back too. And we weren’t crammed at all!

Just another cool feature no one ever mentions but is super sweet. To the left near the E Brake is a brake hold button that lol well holds the brakes when fully stopped. Along with the auto stop, traffic during rush hour in NYC becomes a great resting place while sitting at the same intersection for 5 light cycles

Hey Jeff, thanks for your great reviews. If you had to choose one, would you pick the 2022 Sienna or the Odyssey? They both seem great, but I'm leaning towards the Sienna just for fuel efficiency.
@AutoJeffReviews2 жыл бұрын
I mostly like the Sienna and especially for the 36 miles a gallon. Plus I like hybrids a lot. But I really do like those seats in the odyssey
@benjordan90222 жыл бұрын

I just bought 2022 Toyota Sienna platinum the comfort of the heated middle seats with heated ottoman is amazing Gas mileage incredible . Honda has things I like better but the Toyota as a whole won out. 1500 watt inverter is a big plus that I will use . I wish the Toyota had more ground clearance and that the middle seat was removable no matter how much they weighed. Not sure about the Honda but the Toyota does not have good head clearance for entering passengers side front seat . The battery fan is under front seats . Once seated the clearance is fine.

@@georgiaguardian4696 What year and how many miles are on your Odyssey? Mine is a 2008 EXL with 172,800'ish miles. My oldest daughter who is 17 is driving it and her sister to school now in it, and my 15 year old is learning to drive with it right now. My wife and I love that van because of the sentimental value it has. We bought ours brand new with 20 miles on it, and raised all four of our children in it...and now they are driving it. Crazy!

@@SuperSnakePlissken hi we own a Odyssey 21 EXL and so far only 11000 ish miles. The space utility purposes and convenience of a mini van is just amazing! I’d argue a mini van like a odyssey is the best when it comes to value, power and overall capability of a vehicle for a lot of different purposes and the look is very streamlined and designed for good fuel eco only with lower air drag. Now some minivans try to make them look like an SUV and some SUVs try to make them work like a mini-van, it’s all because of the same aforementioned factors. We will be buying another one in 2024 or 2025 to replace another SUV a Honda CRV we have

I've always been a Toyota fan. Never had a issue with Toyota. With that being said, I do like the design of the odyssey better. Now I need to do a reliability test. I need a vehicle to last 15 years and handle long road trips.

If you're in the market for a minivan, the three must look at were the Sienna, the Pacifica, and the Odyssey. Period. But times have changed. Toyota went with their CVT/4cyl/hybrid option. It's underpowered. So when my wife and I looked, we ruled out the Sienna based on the driving experience. We loved the Odyssey and the way it drove and the room it had inside. But for me, the deal breaker was the dated looks both exterior and interior. The infotainment center looks like it was designed in 2017. Buttons everywhere. I hated it. My wife agreed that the screen looks severely dated, especially the camera view. The Pacifica had great looks, but it still looks like a minivan. No big deal. But the concern for me was the build quality and the transmission, which is a known fault with Chrysler product. There isn't a single Chrysler car/van I would consider. I won't start start with one.
@SuperSnakePlissken2 жыл бұрын
Funny you bring up Chrysler. Over the 14 years I've owned a Honda Odyssey, every Dad I would run into that had a Chrysler or Dodge mini-van regreted their purchase within the first 5-6 years. Every one of them suffered major electrical issues or transmission issues. I remember a friend of mine folded up the seats into the floor and could not get them out because the electrical system failed. Not only that but those clunky 3.6 and 3.8L V6's are just not great. Odyssey is the only way to go if you are going with a Minivan.
@georgiaguardian4696 Жыл бұрын
We have exactly same concerns and went with Odyssey because it’s powerful and just works for the purpose. And we actually love the design inside and out for Odyssey.
