@christo49823 жыл бұрын
take notice though, when you choose to set steering to sport or select sport mode, yes the weighted wheel feels good but the actual turn in wheel tracking is subdued. so if you prefer crisp sharp turn in do not choose sport steering...

Just throwing this out there.. brother in law a mechanic.. very busy popular shop here in So Cal. 30+ years I've been looking last few months, and of course got his thoughts. He said if you only plan to keep the vehicle a few years, or under 120,000 approx miles, then just about any mid size sedan is ok. But after that, Accord>Camry>Mazda6>Kia K5>Sonata>Altima....etc Accord and Camry will last forever, far less mechanical issues, and holds resale value better. Said the Sonata after a few years, starts requiring far more repairs etc.. Of course, there are exceptions, Hyundai vehicles that go for years, but overall, generally go south, quicker. And, from what he sees, anything Hyundai starts to increase in repairs, dramatically, and more frequently over 100,000 miles.. Mentioned that as far as pricing, and all the bells and whistles, a very favorable ratio for Hyundai vehicles. For me, looking for long term, so ok with paying a bit more for either Accord or Camry.. your mileage may vary :)

I completely agree except as a commuter and hyundai owner 2012 sonata limited she has been faithful thru 234,000 original miles and is still going strong I barely started to have some work on it here and there. I've had this vehicle for 9yrs and counting.

The sel plus had the digital display as standard and for 2022 the sel plus has the Bose system as standard as well. The se and hybrid are the only trims with the chrome bar across the front.

Most detailed review on KZbin, thanks! Anything change on the Limited trim from 2020 to 2021 or from 2021 to 2022? I'm probably going to buy a Limited from one of those 3 model years and want to know if there's anything to be aware of.

How do you find it in winter driving is ground clearance enough ? How do you find passing power on the highway?

@GoldPony I have a 2022 Sonata SEL with the Convenience package (Panoramic sunroof, digital dash, etc) in Hampton Gray and I LOVE it! No, it's not as torquey as my old BMW but it has more than enough HP to get in trouble! I think that for the price, it offers a really nice balance between performance and comfort. The fuel economy is stellar in the normally-aspirated 2.5L model: I averaged 42 MPG on my last drive from Minneapolis to Chicago (according to the computer). I also prefer the blacked-out front grille on my SEL versus the Chrome-heavy grille on the SE. It actually has a different design and I prefer it. Coincidentally, my neighbor who parks right next to me has the SE model (again, mine is the SEL) and just the bigger, more aggressive wheels, the sportier and lower-reaching grille, and the digital instrument cluster makes my car just look so much better, IMHO. I get tons of compliments on the looks, the driving lights, and the cool color! This car looks like an expensive, muscular coupe from the side, even though it's a 4-door. It (almost) reminds me of a Porsche from the side. Just sleek and long in appearance. The headlights are phenomenal and the stock stereo, with a good input source, is surprisingly powerful and clear. Overall, I really dig this ride. Also, thanks for the info on Custom Mode. I'm going to play with it tomorrow! I like Sport mode, but I think I have a software issue; sometimes it stays stuck at around 4000 RPM after I stomp the pedal and then back off. I have to shift back to Normal mode to get it back in line. But I would like to keep the steering tighter all the time. I have less than 5,000 miles on it, so clearly the dealer will handle it. Thanks for a great review!

That’s actually incorrect when it comes to the grill. the sel and up have the same grill. It is only the se that has that chrome strip in the grill. I own an sel with convince package with sun roof and it has the same grill as the sel plus. Also the sel plus the digital gauge is standard on the sel plus and optional on the sel. Also full led headlights come one every trim, but the limited get upgraded projector led lights. Also you get gloss black mirrors on the sel plus as well. You own and sel plus you should know that they are black.
