Thank you! I've been waiting for this post to happen. I'm due for an oil change in my 2022 Hyundai Tucson Blue Hybrid and wanted to know the part number and how to do it. The drain valve on the filter housing is pretty unique and I'm glad you posted this video!

At what mileage should we change it? Hyundai told me 7,500 miles. Got the vehicle brand new in January. Now I have about 4,800 miles
@tombyrne64332 жыл бұрын
@@JayRossTVision Jay you should consider doing it now to get the break in oil out and replaced. That way any manufactured shavings will come out with a long drain time.
@mrscott832 жыл бұрын
@@JayRossTVision I changed my factory oil (brand new) at 1,000 miles. Its "break in" oil and needs to get changed out. I then change the oil & filter once in between the Hyundai "freebie" intervals of 15,000 miles. I use ONLY synthetic 0W-20

Great video just ordered 24mm socket , I plan to try to change my wife 2022 Tucson Hybrid Blue next weekend for the first time at under 2K miles and intital break in , Then let Huyundai do the next 3 services since its included with the purchase. I also will try changing my Sonata cartridge as your video gave me confidence. Mobile 1 all the way! From what I researched if the Tucson not made in USA it is susceptible to leak at the oils pan. My wife vehicle was not made in USA. So I want to see for myself if its leaking to get the warranty work done if needed.

I just did my first oil change on my 2022 Tuscon hybrid Limited today so I watched this video again before starting. At 4:43 you can see that the square head of the retaining pin for the filter housing drain plug is between the two tabs on the filter housing. But at 8:28 you installed the retaining pin in the opposite direction; the square head is not between that tabs. I probably doesn't make any difference but those tabs are there for some reason and I'm guessing that they provide protection for the square head of the retaining pin. Another great video BTW.
@edwardbaker133111 ай бұрын
Actually you would not want the head between those flange tabs. At the next oil change it would be harder to pull out the pin. There is no need to protect the head of the pin. It is not really vulnerable. On another topic, the pushpins are crap and hard to reuse. I use an after markert pushpin Much better.
@davidautry485711 ай бұрын
@@edwardbaker1331 Do you have a link to the after market push pins? The filters that I buy include a new push pin but I agree with you that they aren't very nice.
@edwardbaker133111 ай бұрын
@@davidautry4857 I was referring to the pushpins of the underbody protective covers. I have a case of various sizes that I bought a long time ago. If it's worth it to you, I believe Amazon sells similar packages of these. I believe you are referring to the safety stablizing rod that comes with new filters. Again the flattened square end DOES NOT sit between the extruded tabs of the housing.

Great channel!! Hope you can help. 23 Tuscon Hybrid, was wanting to put on 4 jack stands to lift entire vehicle up. Can I use a floor jack centered on the engine cradle to lift up enough to put front stands in, then use rear cross beam to lift up enough to put rear stands in?? Not really any specific info that I've found about safe spots to floor jack the vehicle. You seem to know a bunch, so hopefully you can help. Thanks and look forward to more of your content. And if you want to post up a video showing these jack points, that would be valuable info I think 😀

"Filter pretty good, not gonna recommend it" . Did you see debris there? Shouldn't you just shake it off since you already take it out?
@lrncephil803 жыл бұрын
They probably shouldn't paint it black. If it were red or orange ot would be easier for non Hyundai techs/mechanics to see it. But either way l do feel the person that did the previous oil change should have at least checked to make sure there was a washer on the bolt or the oil pan
@taskmaster583 жыл бұрын
The person that did the last oil change would have had to take the black washer off to put the silver washer back on and then the black one again because the black washer was on the pan side and not the head side of the plug.

A lot of the time they stay stuck on the pan and the one doing the oil change doesn't notice or care. I always check the pan and plug to make sure i replace it.

First 36k miles oil changes included in purchase price Keeping your new Hyundai running at its best requires regular care and maintenance. We encourage new owners to stay on top of it with Hyundai Complimentary Maintenance. Hyundai has you covered for normal, factory scheduled maintenance intervals for 3 years or 36,000 miles (whichever comes first). More frequent maintenance due to severe driving or conditions is excluded. Benefits include: • Engine oil and oil filter changes • Tire rotations • Multi-point inspection • Hyundai Genuine Oil filters & Hyundai Recommended Oil • Extended Hyundai Protection Plans available for severe usage intervals or extended terms

My dealer used 5-30 which is not correct as Hyundai specifically calls for 0-20. I’ve seen other reports of others dealers found the same thing most likely as 5-30 is less costly & easier to get. When it happened to me, I called the dealer and was told 5-30 is compatible. BS! I drained it out and put in the right weight oil in my garage. I’ll be doing my own from now in despite having 3 years of free oil changes.

Thanks for the video, I’m gonna do mine at about 3500 to get the break in oil out, I’ve heard if you take it to the dealer before the recommended 7500 that will throw you into severe service category & further oil changes won’t be covered, any truth to that?

I have a Tucson PHEV on order and have a question that my dealer can't answer as we don't have any PHEV delivered to Canada yet. Does the computer track the mileage on the gas engine seperately from the main odometer? For example, if I do mainly city driving I could potentially have 90+% of my driving on EV mode with the PHEV and may only a small mileage on the gas engine. Is there a way to track the actual mileage that the engine was powering the veh in the computer system?

Why didn't Hyundai just use regular, 1 piece, screw on filters?
@TheMinnow1012 жыл бұрын
Because they want to make more difficult for the DYA guy and encourage them to just take it to the dealer. A spin on filter is too easy.

I go by miles. 3750 in extreme weather conditions which is probably everywhere or you can go 5000. No matter what miles you do, check oil levels between oil changes and add if needed.

Hi, I have a 2022 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid. I just had my winter tires put on recently, and while driving in the highway, the tire pressure light came on. I checked all 4 tires, and they seemed all OK to me. Is there a way to make the warning lights go away/reset?
@hyundaihowto3 жыл бұрын
First thing. Is light on solid or flashing? Soild light is low pressure, flashing is a sensor problem. Ive seen sensors broken from people changing tires.
@flipz19873 жыл бұрын
@@hyundaihowto Flashing. My winter tires, does not have a winter tire reader. The original tires did. My thinking is that since my winter tires don't have the tire pressure reader, that's why the light came up in the dash.
@hyundaihowto3 жыл бұрын
The sensor is on the valve stem not the tire. Do you have a set of wheels and tire for winter or just tire? If Just tires you would keep the same valve stem.
@flipz19873 жыл бұрын
I have a separate set of wheels and tires for winter.

Yes. So the light flashing because it cant read the sensors. The sensors are with the other wheel set. Its going to flash until you put the summer set back on. Most people in my area ignore it.
