And finally someone clearly shows which OEM oil filter fits best with Tucson. Thanks a lot

Not using Hyundai parts voids engine warranty... good video

Nearly everything voids engine warranty. If you don't have all your records from the dealer, that also voids your warranty. In my experience warranty's are a scam. Thanks for watching!

great video, thanks. Any chance you could do the same for this vehicle with a tranny drain & fill?. Ie removal of air box etc to access the tranny fill plug. thank you

Is this 2.5 Smart Stream engine an oil burner? I'm seriously considering buying this vehicle, but having been burned by that notorious 2.4 Theta II engine in my previous Hyundai, I'm weary.

The 2.5 has not had a recall if that helps!

It burned a little at the first 2500-3000 miles. The manual even said this could be the case. It’s the break in for everything to “stabilize”, wear off any burrs in the block etc. It stays consistent after that.

On the filter? Probably nothing. But I like things to be a 100 percent correct with oil. Thanks for watching!

Tucson oil change may not be difficult but it's not easy either b/c of the two oil panels. Panels held on by cheap fasteners . The filter drain plug is plastic, therefore it must be replaced or you risk an oil leak due to heat deformation. Whoever figures out a way to modify or bypass this filter procedure will make a fortune selling the part. It should at least be a metal plug that permits drainage without complete removal.

I think your torque is 25 and tolerance is +5 (obviously we don't want less than 25) giving a 25-30 range, not torque to 25 and add 5, that would just be 30.

I could NOT get the oil filter housing off , the plastic nut end started to twist and I stopped , risking snapping it, then I noticed a DIRECTIONAL ARROW stamped in the housing pointing to the right!, was I turning the wrench the wrong way? ( I was turning the wrench to the left to loosen ) is it reverse or left handed thread? and what gives with the arrow???

I don't understand why you need to drain the oil from the filter through the drain hole if you can remove the entire filter at once. There isn't enough oil there to get everything dirty with oil. Rather, this drain is intended for the case when changing the oil there is no need to change the filter, but you need to drain all the oil.
@StevenBatis-eh7gs25 күн бұрын
I see where you’re coming from m, but, in my mind I would replace it because the o ring at the drain bolt because it couple a potential leak area. If that o ring gets tough dry and wears out, I could leak. I can see replacing the ring and plug (at least the ring) after you cave the canister/ housing off.
