2022 Hyundai Tucson review by The Straight Pipes. The Hyundai Tucson is pumping out 227hp combined and 258 lb ft tq from a hybrid 1.6L Turbo 4 cylinder. Sitting at $41,499 CAD, would this be your pick over the Honda CRV, Toyota Rav4, Nissan Rogue, Mazda CX-5, Subaru Forester?

Hyundai and Kia has been doing this regularly for years now, I remember even back to like 2011 Sportage. I don't get it. I get the design struggles etc, but it's just so disconnected and you don't notice them immediately when driving behind, takes a split second to realize the lowest part of the bumper is blinking...

@@richardnavratil9661 Totally agree! There shouldn't have to be any confusion as to where a vehicle's turn signals are located. Personally, I have had some instances where a Kia/Hyundai vehicle is turning in front of me but I don't notice right away and it really is a safety issue. I'm honestly surprised there isn't some regulation that prevents the placement of turn signals/reverse lights so low on the vehicle since I know headlights cannot be lower than a certain point according to regulations

@@ashtonrichard594 The only saving grace here, really, is the fact they're at least amber. Red turn signals (especially ones that replace a brake light) are the worst. I got a Bullitt, so I get red sequential, still bad, but at least noticeably different. I've gotten into heated discussions on Doug DeMuro's post with someone about the validity/safety of red vs amber too...

I actually just bought the 2022 Hyundai Tucson. I was confused about why I didn’t have a tachometer in the dashboard, so I i dove into the settings, and I found that if you change the settings in the cluster part of your dashboard settings ( you can do that through the steering wheel in the instrument cluster) , you can actually switch your power consumption gauge to a traditional tachometer. What I think is most valuable about this car, and something you actually didn’t cover, is the app that goes along with it. Hyundai’s app for controlling the vehicle and having preset remote start functions for various different types of weather settings, really makes them stand out among the other competition. And they’re leasing options are fantastic.

I can't say good enough words for that remote start via the smartphone app and on top of that it is free for 3 years! 5 minutes before leaving the office I remote start it easily. I have 2021 Sonata.

I recently purchased a 2023 Tucson Hybrid on 12/3/22. I loved the car when I test drove it and watched hours of reviews from KZbin. One thing that every single review failed to mention, is the issue Hyundai has with their panoramic sunroofs, as well as the small piece of glass inbetween the sunroof and the front windshield. There have been class action lawsuits filed against Hyundai because apparently these pieces of glass like to spontaneously burst. This happened to my 2023 Tucson after just ONE WEEK of driving. Walked out to my car ready to head to work, and noticed this giant crack in the glass, expanding from one end all the way to the other end. Car is back at the dealership right now, allegedly getting fixed at no cost to me. But some of the personal stories I've read online make me hesitant to believe that Hyundai is actually going to cover it. I'll come back with more details once I get an update. But just wanted other buyers to be aware of this common issue. I am not very pleased.

Turn signal thing makes sense, most people pull up too closely at stop signs/lights. Way back when I was doing my student driver training, the teacher told me to always make sure i could see the tires on the vehicle in front of me so if I got rear ended I would be less likely to hit the car in front of me because of the gap I left. 2 things guys. 1. On EU version there are kids shades included. Not sure why they didn't included them also on CA version. 2. You can switch the gauges to have Tachometer on every mode from settings. I did that on my Tucson but I don't feel it's useful on the Hybrid with automatic gearbox. Probably only is you prefer the paddles. Anyway, glad you like it. I have it since December and I completely love it. For a car this spacious and heavy, to have a gas consumption around 6-6.5L per km, it's great.

In most cases, yes, but sometimes you have a legitimate reason for getting so close, like if you're letting someone into the turn lane behind you.

@@questioner1596 You should let someone in only when it does not increase risk for yourself or drivers around you. Same as breaking on the main street to let someone in from corner street inadvertably causing gridlock and fenderbenders in next few hours.

@questioner1596 3 жыл бұрын
@@dfd6787, what I'm talking about has negligible risk. Imagine you stop a car length behind someone at a red light, then notice the stopped car behind you has their right signal on. You creep forward far enough to let them into the turn lane. I don't think this has endangered others, but it's immensely convenienced the person behind you.

I think you just answered your question in regards to the rear turning signal. You proved that if you are close to the car, you cannot see their turning signals. But by leaving more space in between you and the car in front, you can see them. I think they did that to prevent rear end collisions by increasing the gap in between cars.

Bought one of these yesterday in Red... Couple cool features they didn't mention... You can remote start this from most anywhere with the Hyundai App on your phone and set the the climate controls to set the temperature before you get in... A part of that it has a "diffuse" button which on hot days will suck the air out of the car, which also can be triggered remotely from the app... With the App you can have preset remote start parameters... I've got mine set to start, diffuse hot air, and set AC to 73... Never have to get into a hot car again... (It times out after 10mins)
