Can someone explain to me how the tables are chosen for different games/ tournaments? im new in the game and a lbit confused why they use different tables and how they are chosen
@oliverkaiser794 Жыл бұрын
Currently there are several tables accepted under ITSF-regulations and each country may choose their preferred table as their home-table. In a match both home-tables will be played alternating between them. The tables are: Bonzini, Leonhart, Tornado, Garlando and Roberto Sport. This is true only for the ITSF world championships. In most national tournaments, there will be only one table which is used in all categories and by all players, maybe except for handicapped people.

I have barely played any Foosball for 30 years, but playing foos on different brands is almost a completely different game to practice. Now I play pool a lot, and yeah different pool tables and locations is different, but a good pool player will play good on different pool tables. I imagine the same goes for tennis on grass, clay, or hardcourt.

I've never been a fan of Bonzini. I think the table is clearly inferior, assuming you value control. And who wouldn't value control? It takes any factors, other than the players skills, off the table, so to speak. You shouldn't have to worry about dropping a ball because the table has some kind of weird roll. Its also so much easier for those who don't play on a Tornado, to get used to it, compared to those who do play Tornado, to get used to a table like Bonzini. This gives competitors a clear advantage over the Tornado players.
@tonyupsman4 ай бұрын
The Bonzini table is a damn disgrace when you have the top tier players in the world showing such control playing on the Tornado with rarely an obvious table shortcoming jamming up the offense. Offense on the Bonzini is wildly random and unecessarily difficult. Why do they continue to push this table in competitive play?
@jeremybr20204 ай бұрын
@@tonyupsman I have asked that question so many times. I believe I asked that same question on a different video, and someone answered........"Because of the very reason that I just stated. It gives the Bonzini players a clear advantage."

Bonzini in comparison to other competitive tables (p4p, tornado, fireball etc) feels like a plastic toy with temu-quality... i think it is a really bad table & it shouldnt be used competitively anymore...

The way we played it back then it was forbidden to spin the handle the way she did on that first goal...
@jeremybr2020 Жыл бұрын
She didn't spin the rod. The way the rule is stated, is the man cannot travel 360 degrees or more without striking the ball. When they first started doing this shot, there were those who thought it broke the rule. However, when you look more closely, and think about it....the man is resting on top of the ball, when it strikes the ball, it is hitting the side or bottom of the ball. So its that little width of the ball that prevents it from going a full 360 degrees rotation. This is why that shot is and has always been, a legal shot.
@tonyupsman4 ай бұрын
I agree plus it adds a little flare to the game as to where the player rests the handle on the wrist.. it's tucked and visually cannot be seen by the opposition. UNDER 360 degrees before a ball strike and you're golden. I love when women use this manuever for some true heat on the ball with greater range of uncertainty by the defense for timing. Sulli is a master when she is on her game with this shot.

There are plenty competitions with an open category where everyone over 16 is allowed to play. Younger players have separate categories to attend. This here is only from one category, the nations-cup which is subdivided into women, men, seniors (50+ and 63+), youth (also multiple subdivisions) and handicapped people. There are other competitions held throughout the event, e.g. Singles, Doubles, Mixed, subdivided like the nations cup. In many national and world-series tournaments there is an open category where women can play men.

Sorry, why on earth is even in table soccer the sports world divided in male and female? What an advantage does muscles bring in that game? And by the way, that game is quite young. So the other usual argument "we need to increase the female sportsmanship" doesn't count either, does it?
@InvisibleSoul8 Жыл бұрын
This is strictly for the benefit of females. If you think strength is the only difference between male and female athletes, then you're definitely mistaken. Studies have shown that males have faster reaction times than females. I'm sure there are other factors as well. In most competitions here in North America, there are female only events, and events open to everyone. Many females play in those open events. I don't think any female has come close to winning Open Singles at a major event, and I don't believe any female has ever been rated as a Master in the open ranking. The very best females have a Pro ranking, while there are dozens of male players with a Master ranking. You might be inclined to ask this about Chess as well. There is literally no strength or physical abilities required for Chess, but yet the highest ranked female player ever only reached #8.

@@InvisibleSoul8 Thank you for this answer!

There are hundreds of open events where women and men are competing each other.
@jeremybr2020 Жыл бұрын
@@sbrgm Thank you for this answer? While I don't necessarily disagree with the answer, it totally misses the most important part. The larger table Soccer tournaments, such as nationals and Worlds, in the USA, have many different categories. You do have a only men's and women's categories, often divided by the rank that you're rated at. But you also have Mixed events where you have both female and males playing on the same team. And the largest event is the Open category. Any player, female or male can play. Doesn't matter the rank or anything else.

@@jeremybr2020 Thanks, Jeremy, but that doesn't answer my question either. In each sports you have mixture couplings, but the question remains: why is it separated in the first place?
