2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L vs 2022 Hyundai Palisade: Which One to Buy?

Between these two SUVs my choice would be the Jeep Grand Cherokee L. Higher levels of flexibility with the Jeep Grand Cherokee L over the Hyundai Palisade.

We just bought the 2022 WL Grand Cherokee "Limited" trim level (with addons) My dad has the 2022 Palisade Calligraphy. They are entirely different cars for different purposes. My dad's is high trim level and very well optioned while ours is less optioned (no front camera / 360). Everything on the 22 je p suspension wise is aluminum and there's an aluminum strut tower substructure in the front. it's very durable and essentially has the same quality that my BMW X5 F15 had. The Palisade has a transverse mounted engine, It's clearly a Front wheel drive with AWD added on. The strut towers are stamped from the body steel and the suspension is stamped steel as well. It's more smooth over the bumps (our GC does not have air ride as I didn't want it so we avoided the Overland). The Jeep has far better structural quality The engines seem about the same but the Mopar Pentastar does seem to be a bit older tech. Tires are larger on the jeep although they both have 20" wheels. The are simply different cars for different purposes. Here in the "snow-belt", I'd advocate for the jeep. My dad will be in FLA by the time it snows so he will be fine and enjoying the smooth ride of hos Palisade. An aluminum hood and rear hatch are also some serious upgrades that will help us up here in the rust-belt.

We went with Summit Reserve with the Quadra-trac, Quadra-lift, and the Hemi....there's no comparing it to any Hyundai or KIA out there....

Same, glad I waited for the V8. Also, old-school port-injected engine won't have to go into the shop for a valve job every 40k miles.

The Palisade is better daily driver for 95% of people. The jeep is better for those who lived where theres a lot of dirt roads

I've been very happy with the everyday driving around town in my GCL. The air suspension makes for an excellent ride.

How the Hell can you compare a Jeep that pushes past $75 on the hign end Compared to the Palasade that tops out close to $50K with every option. $25K Difference or 33% Price Gap.

The Jeep covers a large spread in price. At the bottom end it competes with Ford Explorer / Honda Pilot. Mid tier would complete with Kia Hyundai, upper trim explorer/ Acura MDX Top summit reserve is a direct competitor to the Lincoln aviator. With multiple AWD / Low rang 4WD options it simply more diverse than the Kia/ Hyundai twins

I would pick jeep as my only choice. A lot these foreign manufacturers sparkling materials and but value/ quality does not back that up year after year, all you have to do look closely. Even some self called expert reviews miss leading consumers.

kia and hyundai warranties sound great on paper, but they require that you prove you have done every schedule maintenance or you will void the warranty..even then, they will try to find a way out of fixing the vehicle for free

This isn’t a real comparison of equal vehicles. Jeeps Price can reach well over $75K and Pallisade tops off around $50K for every option. The Pallisade is a great value with a better warranty and more useful Tech features. I don’t know any Family that is taking all the kids and their Expensive Jeep to go Rock Climbing.

@@gene978 A maxed out GCL won't crack $75k. You need to get into a Wagoneer to hit that number, at which point you've left it in the dust. I think the Wagoneer starts around $84k.

How much more do you like the Q7 over the Palisade, or does the value in the Palisade make up for quality in the Q7..? We have a 2020 Palisade Limited and we're debating on getting a luxury SUV or a Telluride/Sorento to join it in the driveway...

Really not the best comparison in terms of options while staying at the same price range. I looked at both vehicles and just purchased a 2022 Palisade Calligraphy. I do like the Jeep L but for the same money and the options you get, the Jeep is NOT even close. Even the video stated to get a loaded Jeep you need to spend roughly $63k and to get a loaded Palisade it’s $50k. Now if looking for an off road sure the Jeep is the best but like the guy in the video said, go and see your accountant as you will pay a hefty price.

These shouldn't even be compared in the same segment. One is more of a every day driver and the other is more in the upper trim luxury. Bang for the buck, I would choose Palisade.

Palisade You mean only the BASE model have wireless androidauto and carplay :P the higher end don't :( and no power folding mirror 2 things i dont like on my Pali the rest for the price really good. but the cherokee with the 950watss sound systeme sound super the Pali only have 630watts its ok but i want to hear that 950w :)
