The Kia picanto X-line is the flagship model of the picanto range. It competes with cars such as the suzuki swift GLX, renault kwid climber and hyundai grand i10. This is a perfect starter car for young professionals and anyone who's aiming to save some money. With the constantly rising fuel price here in South Africa you won't suffer that much with this car because it is fuel efficient.

My wife has this car and TBH we use it more than my much bigger sedan. It is a joy to drive around town, nippy and you can take gaps that bigger cars wont fit. Once you experience this you will laugh at people trying to park their Fortuners around town. It is also very light on fuel, on the open road get about 5.2l/100km as long as you are not hammering it. About 6l/100KM average. Regarding the size, for town it is perfect even with me (6ft) and wife in the passenger seat with my toddler behind my wife. My seat is nearly all the way back though. The boot is tiny though so not ideal for long trips so for those we use my car. So overall a great 2nd car if you have access to a bigger one for longer trips where you need to carry a lot. We like the look of it also. Perhaps not for everyone, if you have a small tollie and need a Hilux to feel masculine, this car is not for you.

Good car, if you are in a budget. The 5 year warranty without worries about the kilometres. Kia is offering the good deal here. Also it looks better than the standard version 🙂

Hey Muzi considering what cars cost these days you really are getting a lot of features for your money. Just a correction, this car doesn't have led headlights, they are projector halogen headlamps unfortunately. And you can't expect real leather in this price bracket so the seats are what they call faux leather

The picanto is without a doubt a great starter car. It offers impressive Specs at an affordable price, great warranty and it's also easy on fuel with an average fuel consumption of 5.9l/100km, for the lower end models it's only 4.9l/100km. Regarding the X-line I wouldn’t recommend the automatic variant unless you're always driving in areas with heavy traffic like Jozi.

The Asian manufacturers are winning in this segment, this is a good value for money car after it sibling the Hyundai Grand i10. The Suzuki Swift is not more spacious than these 2 but it's not equipped like these twins.... Can't say much about the Polo Vivo...it looks the best but doesn't offer such as much as the Asian market does...on top of that, the Vivo come with manually operated Windows at the back, no matter which model you buy😑
