For me, the only desirable in the newest stinger is the bigger screen and the exhaust. They downgraded the GT1 headlights to some ugly crap for 2022. In previous years, the GT1 and GT2 shared the same lights. Now you need a GT2 to get the same loadout. Also, not a huge fan of the new wheels either. I didn't think the old "Y spoke" design was particularly good either, but I really think the new model year's design is even weirder. The light bar taillights don't look terrible on the 2022, but it robs the stinger of a more unique look that the ringed design of the old models have. Finally, I think the new scalloped design of the leather stitching looks way too busy with how they made them overlap. The old leather seats looked much cleaner. A lot just screams to me they are making these changes just for the sake of making changes. They still haven't let the driver turn off the auto start-stop permanently through the menu, and they still are using those fake intake cutouts 🤣

The record 1/4 mile for the Stinger was set a few weeks ago at Rockingham Dragway here in NC. He ran 11.16 @ 122 mph in a 2019 AWD Stinger GT2. Have you guys ever considered coming out to Rockingham and racing? It is really fun and not too expensive. It would be some fun new content for the channel. If you ever want to go just let me know and I will see you guys out there.

@@Willster7471 the record has been broken many times since then. They are now under 11 seconds for the 1/4 mile on Dragy. The current record holder doesn’t even use meth. He just has a 7th injector and E48. He does a 2.9 second 0-60 mph in a 4100+ lb car. Quite amazing.

Excellent review. I love my Stinger GT which is the top of the line model here in Australia. It is simply the best value for money, bang for bucks car I have ever had, and I have had some fabulous cars in the past. It would have been great if they had included fog lights. Wireless connectivity would have been great as it is a bit outdated having to use a usb cable to connect a phone in order to use maps etc.

I could see those upgrades being needed especially when they are trying to compete with other brands like BMW and Audi which already have those features, but maybe that's how they save some money and why it costs less, but Kia has the technology from other models to add that!

Nope--the stinger is a bigger heavier more stable car then a WRX--it is also much faster,You can clik my name and see wht my 2020 AWD Stinger did to a 500 HP WRX at public drag night.I keep my Stinger in comfort mode in daily driving and it rides as smoothe as glass and absorbs bumps much better--it does not hop as easy as a WRX does when cornering hard.

I just traded my RWD 2019 Kia Stinger GT2 for an AWD 2021 Kia Stinger GT2 this week. The AWD is definitely the one to get if you want to go fast in them. The RWD Stingers spin the tires too much even with the most minor mods. They actually end up slower than the AWD Stingers in most cases. The Stingers are holding their value extremely well right now. I rolled $6,000 into my original 2019 loan. I got an offer from Vroom that erased all of that extra debt and actually gave me $2,300 of equity after only 18 months of no interest payments. They have about $10,000 worth of discounts on the 2021 Stingers right now since the 2022s are out. So many great choices from Kia right now.

The RWD is lighter and you can have more fun around corners with its inclination to slightly oversteer. RWD is quicker to 60 provided road surface isn't an issue

Why would the Audi have a check engine light lol? Audi is very reliable! I've had two R8's with zero issues! Kia is pretty reliable as well though. But it's definitely a nice car!

A suggestion that I notice other car reviewers miss out on, is it would be so awesome if you briefly commented on the size of the gas tank of vehicles. I know this car in particular lacked a good size tank in its previous years but even for other vehicles it'd be nice to know. The KIA Stinger is awesome. It's incredible and a shame that it hasn't sold better. For me, the only thing is the exhaust note. It lacks the excitement factor one wants in a performance car, including GT cruisers.

Love the new ‘22 rims, slightly bigger screen is a plus but I don’t like the new tail light design at all. The bigger exhaust tips look weird because the real exhaust ends are so visible/ not attached but that’s fixable.

That is crazy since you can buy a fully loaded GT2 brand new for about $45,000 if you go with the 2021 instead of the 2022 model.

@@paigecorriea6017 if you are getting the 4 cylinder Stinger then definitely get the 2022 one. The 2.0 liter engine in the older Stingers just isn’t enough. The new 2.5 liter engine is MUCH better. That car will also hold its value better.

A lot! Nappa leather seating and different stitching , ventilated seats, heated rear seats, heads up display , electronic shifter, 7 inch lcd instrument cluster, power adjusting steering wheel, 360 degree camera/surround view monitor, front parking camera. And I also believe the Harmon Kardan sound system. Those are the main things I can think of on the interior. Other things are the power hatch back/trunk, auto full led headlamps. There are some other things also.

$35k is the 300hp engine. This is top of the line with 368 hp AWD twin turbo.

The top trims are definitely over priced and should probably be closer to 45,000 max if kia expects to actually move these. The lower trims are the better deal in the 30k ranges. Having said all that, I think kia basically knows they are asking too much and just don't want to lower their clout by dropping the price. They just offer huge discounts instead. Nobody is paying 55,000 for a GT2. Kia will let them go brand new for 46,000 all day.

Monthly payment will be determined by what interest rate you get and a combination of down payment and amount financed. It could be over $1k a month if you finance all of it. Or $100 a month if you finance $5k of it

Depends on your driving history. I own an Audi R8 that costs $67 a month to insure and a GTR that's about the same. 200 is insane, if someone is paying that on a Kia, somethings not right! Maybe if someone has a terrible driving record with tons of tickets and accidents, but this should be relatively affordable for insurance.

I pay $220 for my Taurus. Would be bit lower without a ticket or 2 but even then will clean record best I can hope for is like 180. Mind you it’s a full sized sedan with with a TT V6. Similar to the Stinger ina few way.
