I like this concept of knock on the door for HOF. We need more this kind of knock on the door. It felt wholesome! The feelings of knowing you are being told to be inducted to HOF by your own friends and teammates makes it more special!
@michaelfalkner1186 Жыл бұрын
I get what you are saying there, but there was the knowledge of David Baker and what that knock meant -- which is why many who received it were already being cheered, mobbed, hugged etc. before they opened the door to him.
@EyeOfThePhi Жыл бұрын
nah. black folks already have to deal with so much trauma including no knock warrants (RIPower Breonna Taylor) this random knocking crap could cause a lot of stress for these Black Men who already gave it there all on the field. a simple phone call would suffise.

It feels more earned with a HOF telling you. It's like a very small fraternal order, and a brother that you probably know does the honor I've telling you you are in. And the honor of one day getting to tell a new HOF that they are in. We don't need a new David Baker, where it felt awkward sometime anyway. Brother telling brother feels deep after years of battle and blood.

Its one thing to win a Division, or the Conference, or even a Super Bowl. It's an achievement to be a Super Bowl MVP. But to be told by a HOF'er that your body of work (and work, and work, and work) throughout your career has been recognized by your peers and you have reached the pinnacle of your profession has to be very moving. The financial rewards are great, the beautiful house and cars are great, but they will pass. The recognition as a Hall of Famer will last forever. Congratulations to the Class of 2022!

Where’s the knock from Hampton, Dent and Singletary on Steve McMichael’s door??? Oh never mind, the Hall voters Snubbed him. Not disrespecting to Bryant Young and Richard Seymour BUT Mongo McMichael had statistically a better career. More sacks ( 95 and nearly double Seymour’s total) and more tackles (800+) than them. McMichael couldn’t be blocked one on one, could play sideline to sideline, caught Randell Cunningham from behind 20 yds down the field, was feared by QBs and O Lineman around the league, was the motor that made the great Bears D go. Truly disgusting to be snubbed by the pompous sports writers who voted. They should be ashamed.
