You're the only other person)besides me) that wires the brake pad pin clip. I had my front get scraped out and when I was blasting down a fire road this front pin came out and sheared off four spokes in my front wheel. If I was moving slower I probably would have gone over the bars

I was looking forward to any helmet-cam ride videos of the hard Enduro you do! Amazing bike build. I'm thinking about getting back into Enduro racing. I've had 2 KTM 300s, an 04 and an 09. Overall how do these new TPI bikes run compared to the older carb models? I live in the southeast Appalachia area
@BestNThDez2 жыл бұрын
They are very linear on the power curve, which is what you ant for tech stuff, especially in your area/type of riding. A carb bike will def be a bit more snappy off idle, but nothing that is to be worried over. Carved two strokes will be gone in 5 years anyways, as this technology (TPI/TDI) is changing and getting better and better. There are still guys out there, like some of my friends, that are die hard carbureted guys. They’ll come around sooner or later. Plus, the convenience of not ever having to mess with your jetting is a big plus for me.

Great video, Why don't you run wrap around handguards?
@BestNThDez3 жыл бұрын
I have for 25 years. I tried and ended up switching to these SXS handguards on my 2021 300 XC-W (the bike prior to this on; in my other video). I like these as much as the wrap-arounds, plus they have the added benefit of less weight. In the hard enduro world, it seems to just be nicer and easier without all of the extra weight, as I got rid of my Flex Bars too, and have been running these new bars. After 100 hrs. with the SXS guards, I've broken zero levers and have had zero issues. They mount right to the stock handguard assemblies and have been bullet proof. I love them.

Lol. Incorrect. It’s ready to go in stock form, but some people ask of and do a lot more than the stock bikes are intended to for the normal public consumer. This is a lot of stuff that is simply more of an insurance policy to prevent cosmetic damage and some mechanical failures also. I ride hard enduro and am much harder on the bike than the normal person. You’ll be fine to go buy a stock bike and go ride if you choose not to add any of this aftermarket parts.

I unfortunately bought one of these pieces of crap. The dealers cannot fix it and KTM will not cover anything under warranty even though it ran like shit from the 1st day. I will never buy a KTM again. I was warned I would regret it.

What was/is going on with it? Did you ever get it fixed or is it still not running correctly. I’ve had 3 of these bikes, abs haven’t had any issues.

@@BestNThDez LOL. It has not run properly from day 1. It stopped running a few days ago. And KTM has denied warranty on it to date for the dealer. Not even covering a Crank Case Pressure Sensor. It will not even start now. I had sent the ECU away to TSP thinking that may help (I am out of ideas) and they discovered there is a problem with the ECU. KTM ECU's are back ordered to MArch 2022. Now it cranks over but no sputter, no bang, no backfire, no attempt to fire up. It never made any noises. I had started it. Idled it for 60 seconds. Took off (not full throttle) and when I shifted into 4th it lifted me off the seat as the back tire was sliding on the wet pavement of the road I was using for this test run and the engine had stopped instantly. I had a brand new Coober ECU in it as I was waiting for the return of my original KTM ECU. I pushed it 1 km back to my vehicle loaded it up. Check for fuel and spark back at home, both OK!. Once I received my KTM ECU back with KTM's Map 3 Extreme back on it, the bike will still not start. Today I will trailer it to the dealer. I may have to pay to fix this piece of junk as I cannot even sell it like this. I think, like most younger technicians they only know to hook up the scanner and if it does not show anything wrong then they do not know enough to know how to fix a 2 stroke motor or anything. But I could be wrong and just a little disappointed with the bike at this point in time. I wonder if it would burn in a bonfire on January 1, New Years Eve? It probably could not even do that reliably. 🤣🤣

@@BestNThDez Canada. It stopped the other day. 1st time it has done that. Is at the dealer now (4th time). Tried 2 ecu's as mine was identified as having an issue by an aftermarket ecu company. I learned mine is not the only one. Another dealer had a bad one and KTM took it back and the customer eneded up with a new bike. This sort of thing is common with all human made things, be they be: motorcycles, cars, trucks, snowmobiles, cellphones, toasters, computers,... With so many made there will be a tiny % that have a defect. Mine has been looked at from across Canada, the U.S.A. and Australia. LOL. Now that it has finally stopped running, starter turns it over but it will not start hopefully it is easier to diagnois now. And hopefully the dealer gets warranty as they have been denied warranty. LOL. It has spark and fuel! I started it, warmed it up 1 minute, checked the new iridium plug, took it to my test road, ently went through the gears until I put it into 4rth and it just instantly stopped. Never to start again. This hopefully is good making it easier to diagnois.
