I have a 2021 Carbon Edition, which didn't have AWD, but it did have the Bose sound system. I don't miss the navigation system because I just use Google or Apple Maps with Carplay. Nice review, thanks!

I think vehicle is a pretty damn good vehicle for my mom. She is currently looking. I think the color is fantastic. She doesn’t need a great audio sound system. Touchscreen and wireless CarPlay would be nice but i think for her, this is just fine.

My 2013 Mazda 3 does the downshift too when you mash the pedal, it's a Skyactiv thing. Depends where RPM is if it does it or not and you quickly learn how much to push accelerator before it auto shifts.

Thanks for the review, I am currently looking at either a new 2023 CX-5 Carbon edition or a used 2022 CX-5 Carbon Turbo Edition for about the same price. Almost like it would be better to buy a used 2022 with more power. I am guessing the AWD will help with the 250 HP and 300 ft-lb of torque. The one grip I have as a person looking at buying a Mazda, is the trim and options are mixed up some. Most of the 2023 CX-5 Carbon edition have the Bose audio, but some of the older Carbon editions don't. Before anyone jumps on me, I know that Mazda states some of the 2022 Carbon Editions may not have Bose due to the chip shortage. Honda removed their BSI chips on the 2022 and some 2023 models so I know they were just trying to get cars out. But it is very confusing when you want a option and it's hit or miss on the trim it should be on. Over all the 2023 Carbon edition to me is pretty dang slick looking, and you get a lot of the premium options like the Bose and NAV. So for me and my pocket I may go 2023 Carbon Edition and save the extra $5k along with a little better MPG long term for my next vehicle.

I would skip on the turbo. The current oil valve seal issue on the 2.5T from Mazda is a royal pain in the ass. Avoid it at all costs IMO.

@@MBZ-Nation I ended up buying a Honda accord 2.0t Touring. Mazda dealership in our area was hard to work with, so I went else where.

@@sn4rl277Which year? I had a 2018 Accord Hybrid. It was a great car! I just bought a 23 CX5 Carbon edition. I'm honestly getting tired of poor sound insulation with Hondas. The CX5 is dead quiet! Almost as quiet as our 2015 LS460.

Just watched your Tucson SEL AWD and I'm thing CX-5 Select is more equipment at lower price. Dig your reviews.

A Carbon Edition with ventilated seats, Bose stereo, and the turbo engine would be my ideal combination. It is very bizarre you cannot get a Carbon with the turbo. The color combination is crying out for that engine.

I've got a 62 mile one way commute. The miles add up real fast; in the DC metro area, that's not a uniquely long commute.
