2022 Mercedes-AMG E 53 with AMG Performance Exhaust | Exhaust Notes

It hasn’t been talked about enough how good this new Mercedes inline-6 sounds. No, it isn’t the best, and for under 90k, excluding the Porsche 911’s flat 6, BMW inline-6’s, are the benchmark 6 cylinder engines. But this is really, really good.

I am in the market today and have been unsure how to feel about the E 53. I think this video has convinced me I will not go wrong with a 23' E 53 Coupe. Not a V8 but damn this interior is just so much more gorgeous than a C63S. I guess I will follow through with the AMG performance exhaust and then tune the 53 if it ends up not being enough power lol.

AMG Performance exhaust is a must. Absolutely changes the entire auditory signature of the AMG six-cylinders. Can't recommend it enough.

Is this car stock? I have a 2023 E53 coupe, just passed 14000 on it since delivery in October. Wondering if I should change the exhaust yet. Those annoying pipes don’t go all the way to the end like Audi, it gets stopped before the bumper

Do you notice any input lag from pedal shifters? Im thinking about switching mine cla 45s to cls 53, however mine cla 45s have a DCT and the change from pedal shifters are instant, how does yours feels?

Maybe like a SLIGHT delay, not instant like a DCT, that's for sure, and not as quick as an 8-Speed ZF in the BMWs.

It's slightly higher pitched, that's for sure. Got this mechanical whine just before it hits the limiter, but the B58 is much smoother throughout the powerband, and more polished.

Nah. It's more with the video and how we mounted the mic outside next to the exhaust as well. The pops are more muted when you have the windows up and are sitting inside the vehicle.

m4c no question. A full performance car vs family sedan tuned car. if you want interior and luxury, go for e53. But since you brought up m4, you probably want performance but don't know cars well. If that's the case, m4 is the preformance choice

I have the E53 Coupé , And the M4 Cabriolet . You cant compare them. E53 perfekt for Long Ride with sporty comfort. The M4 ist brutal and very hard Like a sunday Car or for Track.

M4C if you want a sportier drive. E53 is much more comfortable as a daily driver. Can't go wrong with both to be honest.

This car sounds beautiful. Excuse the stupid question but is this definitely a 2022 model? Reason I ask is because the video was released in 2021, I understand this is a stupid question but please let me know. I am about to order this car tonight and if this is really what is sounds like it's a done deal. Here in Australia this car goes for $200,000 so I need to be sure before I pay that much! Thank you!

Looks like he did in sport+. And you’re right! Race has less pops, but keeps low gears and takes off right away. If you doing paddles, S+ is the way to go.

Stock exhaust. Mic was just mounted on the outside right next to the exhaust pipes so you can hear the 'true' noise.

@@CanadianAutoReview im considering one right now. Had a 2017 C43amg and it was unbearably stiff IMO. I heard they improved that and don't hear stiffness is an issue with E53 but am concerned. Going to test drive today. I'm in a 550 right now and it's pretty comfortable. What are your thoughts?

@@m27gio C 43 is definitely stiffer. The E 53 is incredibly comfortable in its softest settings, yet still grounded and stable at higher speeds. The perfect amount of body roll and stiffness. Remember that this isn't the full-beans AMG. If comfort is a priority, the standard E 450 is a beaut. Can't go wrong with it, and yeah not the most engaging on the road, but it's one of the best two-door GT cruisers under $100k CAD.

Actually the engine is not turbo charged, it is supercharged, more HP! 430 hp to be exact with an extra 21 hp on a hybrid EQ boost on demand!

I’m seriously considering trading my 22 BMW 530i and getting one of these. I love a sedan and it is a second vehicle which I usually drive if it just me or my wife and I on trips. Kids ride in the truck lol

530i is a proper sedan, full of luxury and amenities. Great ride quality too. E 53 is a bit stiffer, more power and tech, leaning more towards performance, whereas the 530i is more towards comfort. Really depends what you're looking in a car. If you want a smile every time you drive, can't go wrong with the E 53.
