Combine that with superb fuel economy, affordable low price, industry leading warranty, and decent passenger & cargo space, and you have a winner!

I can remember back in 2012-2013 when this mirage was launched/released. motoring reviewers/vloggers/influencers/journalist were bashing this car and laughing at the 10 year warranty saying that Mitsubishi won't be around that time. Now 10 years later, Mitsubishi is still alive and shows no slowdown in selling this car especially with today's ever crazier fuel prices. Now the reviewers were shut off by mirage LOL!

Rear air vents are under the front seats. Windshield wipers are speed-sensitive variable, which is a nice touch. Automatic climate control...but no glove box light, lol. Small wheels mean inexpensive tires. If you just want to get to your job at Starbucks or pick up your kid from daycare on the cheap these are hard to beat. About $200 bucks a month for six years gets you a car that will return 35-40 mpg and never break down. I bought one in 2015 and in 200,000 miles it has NEVER broken down. Matter of fact, it is still on it's original clutch, water pump, alternator, starter, CV axles...everything. Not the most exciting car I ever owned, but hands-down the most reliable.

@WTFCRLT12 жыл бұрын
At 55 in 5th gear you should be sitting around 3k RPM so the torque should be adequate however you might have to drop down into 4th for the very steep hills
@gregoryfaulkner53452 жыл бұрын
I live in a hilly area between Knoxville and Nashville, TN. I got the 2020 hatch with the 5 speed and what you are asking about is the thing I'm most impressed with regarding this car. It will climb up hills at speed in 5th gear, no problem at all. I did not expect that sort of performance. I have one hill on my way home that is 6% grade for about a quarter mile. I have the cruise set at 59 at 3000 RPM. It will maintain the speed. If my wife is with me, I'll give it a little gas at the base of the hill and climb right up at 60 mph. If I didn't do that, I could still keep 5th gear, but it will drop about 2 mph. I traded this car for a 6 speed Kia Soul 1.6L 4 cylinder. Rated at 130 hp and 118 peak ft-lb torque. That car, despite it's much higher numbers was a total slug on the hills for rural state hwy commutes. This car is much, much better and 13 more mpg. I never get under 45.
