Great video. I got one of these in early July. I have done a couple of long trips when I have put petrol in but normally just plug it in at home once or twice a week and I am on electric only. Last week a message came up on the dashboard to tell me to go and put some fresh fuel in because it was getting stale! I hadn’t refueled since 21 Aug 😮

Top tip for anyone buying one. When we decided to buy one i called a a bunch of dealerships and found the exact model and colour we wanted which the original buyer fell through. Had the car within a week and avoided the 12 months wait the other dealer told me we would be facing.

Brilliant car. Well appointed. I use solar power to charge up the battery. Best car I have ever driven.

Great review, thanks. I was surprised by the lack of head room in the 2nd row, whereas there seemed to be plenty in the 1st row. Can you mention how talk you are in the reviews as it helps us gauge whether that 2nd row head room would be a deal breaker.

I’m 5’ 11” and I wouldn’t want to sit back there for long. Didn’t stop me buying one though. I’ll be sitting up front mostly and if I’m stuck in the 2nd row for long I’ll recline the seat, close my eyes and try to forget where I am.

Just curious you stated after the battery was depleted and in normal mode you were able to achieve 3 to 5l per 100km. Is that just in hybrid mode with EV battery drained? That's really good if that's true👍. Also was your 70km battery only range city or mixed city and highway? Thanks

@@craigelliott2524 How you get a one inch gash in a city car park ;) ? Really tho, it's a trolling question. If you were going to seriously overland or something you would change the wheels and carry a spare. Otherwise, you avail yourself of the repair kit and the free roadside service like most people actually do in real life.

I just took delivery of my 2022 Tesla Model Y Rwd after only a 2 month wait in Perth W.A mainly due to the EV FBT Legislation that I'm very relieved finally has passed in the senate. The tax savings are actually a lot more than most people realise. The Model Y Rwd has phenomenal performance, technology & safety with the ability to charge at up to 11kw on AC or 7kw on my Ocular charger I installed at home. I also have 20 solar panels so don't get large electricity bills - my latest bill was only $25. I haven't yet visited a Tesla Supercharger however that was one of the reasons I chose to order a Tesla along with the fact you could actually order one - unlike a lot of the competition. I previously owned a 2014 Outlander Phev for 4 years starting in 2015 & just sold a 2020 model with slightly larger 13.8kwh battery that I'd had for 1.5 years for only $1000 less than the price I paid. They are great cars however after 5 years of Phev ownership am stoked to go fully electric & quickly realised the Model Y is lightyears ahead. The worst thing in my opinion about the Outlander Phev is the very slow AC charging speed of 3.7kw that I'm surprised hasn't improved in this latest model even though the battery is 20kwh. You can use a DC ChadeMo fast charger (if you can find one) however it will only charge to 80% which only used to provide a little over 30km of EV range which was very frustrating & not worth the effort or 25 minutes of your time. Having over 400km of range now without having to use expensive fuel ever again along with the fact I regularly charge for free at my local shops & even some beach carparks is a great feeling. I think Mitsubishi should see how popular the Model Y, EV6 & Ioniq5 are in Australia lately & decide to bring out a full BEV version of the Outlander instead of dragging their knuckles for decades like Toyota has done.

Why are you comparing non plug-in Hybrids with this Plug-In Hbrid EV? Totally different in operation and economy for the average Aussie driver travelling less than 50kms most days.

its more about caring the environment not the $ wise. and unfortunately Lithium is still expensive. most of the cost of EV comes from lithium.

It's more about the premium driving experience. Same as on other petrol cars where you pay a lot extra for the more powerful engines. This has more power and torque than a CX9 petrol turbo, and is cheaper.

Nice car but I would never buy phev. It makes sense to buy an PHEV only if you are going to use electricity. Otherwise, you have to pay more for using petrol because you have to carry on addition 155 kg battery which is equivalent to 2 adults. So, you are paying more for using PHEV and you have to plug it in almost every night to avoid using any petrol! I would prefer to see a fully electrical vehicle with at least 400 kms battery range + small 1.2L engine that I can use only if I need to…

DONT BUY IN AUSTRALIA!!! We are an after thought. Car is missing side mirrow tilt , front head light washed , phone wireless branded matt , and prices have been increased . What a joke. Buy only if you live in the US or Canada or whatever country Mitsubishi gives a dam.
