I picked up the st line Vignale estate last week in desert blue and for a 1.0 ltr engine I was absolutely speechless on its performance. I absolutely love it. I ordered mine in March this year and was told September for delivery at the earliest. Even the salesman was surprised that it had arrived so soon.

Had mine since June (ordered 1st Nov). I love the Fantastic Red. I have the Auto. I'm 60 and love the oomph without the effort. I didn't go for the sunroof because it adds so much weight. Didn't get the HUD because it looks naff. I didn't get the performance pack as I'm not interested in taking it on track, though strangely enough, it came with a track mode. They do charge £1400 extra for the auto (its a torque converter and not a DCT btw) which seems a bit steep. Loving the car though haven't yet explored driving with the flappy paddles. P.S. Loving your enthusiasm for the car.

Had my white one for 3 couple of months, still like a brand new car, constantly surprising me. Drove around Scotland in it with 3 adults luggage, it still left others standing. Pressing on the accelerator, it just keeps giving. It feels so much more than a Focus but still understated until you appear behind someone on the motorway, then they move. Good to get a stage 1 but not sure who from yet.

Great review. I have had mine on order since January this year with a projected build date of September. I've gone for the same colour plus panoramic roof although I have gone for the automatic with the paddles purely as I'm getting older (I know, hot hatches should be manual!). Hi Sam. Just wanted to say thanks for your many great reviews on the ST. I've had the mk4 ST-Line since 2019 and always thought about getting the proper ST. I finally bit the bullet at Christmas and treated myself to a new one in fantastic red and should be collecting it before the weekend. I live in Tenerife and have only seen a couple of others on the island, so it'll be a very rare car here. Can't wait.

@@SamAustin I got standard with performance pack, parking, technology pack b&o etc and collected it today. It was the only one they had in stock without having to have one specially made. That meant a really good discount and also only a 3 week wait from ordering. Paid €35k (just over £30k) which I think is decent for brand new.

And it also came with a "gift" from Ford - factory soft to 330 HP for some extra money.....i dont know if the hatchback has this feature.... Till now no problems since january 2021 when i bought it.......its surprises me some peoples comments about problems and reviews, in reality its much faster than on reviews......

Had mine on order since last December but it's being built this month and should arrive with the dealer in October, can't wait to get it now. I opted for the manual in fantastic red with all the option packs but looks really nice in the magnetic grey so hoping I don't regret that decision now😬, just thought the red would make the grey alloys stand out more. I also didn't spec the pan roof either as thought the cost was excessive and would probably hardly use but must admit it does look nice. Great to see one up close anyway... roll on collection day😁

Great review Sam, the car looks and sounds fantastic. I have one on order in Australia, due to arrive early November, can’t wait to get back into a manual hot hatch after years of driving an auto. They have been axed from the Australian market with only a few shipments arriving before the end of the year, going to be super rare over here.

There is a Facebook group Mk4 ST Owners Australia normally members post if they see any in dealerships, there have been some in QLD and NSW. I seen one in my local dealership a mean green auto, but I want a manual. Good luck.

@@dannycoyles7134 thanks mate, I will keep ringing the stealerships, rang another one here in WA today and they sold the only one they had last month. Dealer reckons the new model doesn’t even come with REV matching or flat shift nor does it come with the race track mode. I’d be very interested to see the truth in that because usually they don’t actually know what comes with what, that’s just my experience with Ford with the ST MK4 I have now. Definitely has to be manual too! Hope yours come soon, new seats and infotainment screen looks great

Thank you! I believe it is an option on manual cars but not available on the auto Focus ST. However, Ford are moving away from Petrol cars it seems so it is quite hard to tell the current configuration that is offered on the Focus ST

Hey Mate, think I just replied to you on Instagram but for sure mountune offer some great bit for Fords. I drove an M365 with the mountune exhaust and it sound brilliant so I can recommend. Also the mountune exhaust on my old RS Edition sound pretty spectacular aswell 👌

Thank you for the comment! I found it okay to use but like most touch screens very difficult if not impossible to use everything on the move. Physical buttons are still always my preference in cars for a more user friendly experience 👍

The ST is a better daily and more fun to me but the I30N is more focused (excuse the pun) and direct in the way it drives. The I30N is not as playful and seemed a bit more serious to me. I'd say as a car to use on the road everyday I would take the Focus ST

I found that the Focus ST is soon leaving the Australian market, and the Fiesta ST too. Cos Ford AU is now focusing more on SUVs, pickups (or utes as they’re called in Ozzyland) and the Mustang.

The mk4 focus is an electrical nightmare I’ve had a 1.5 dragon engine version and three 2.3 ST all had major issues with safety systems after around 5-6k. I have a mk8 fiesta ST now which sees no issues and is actually more fun to drive than the mk4 focus ST which I find borderline boring

Shame about your Mk4 experience. I have a MK4 ST approaching 5k miles. I run the Mountune M330 map 330PS 515NM and it transformed the car and what Ford should have produced but did not as they thought they were bringing out the RS and the performance gap would have been too little. Prior to ordering my Mk4 I did go out in the little mk8 ST, the too cars couldn't be more different if they tried, so in my book no comparison can be made. Today two people, overnight luggage, a large piece of furniture and all my camera equipment, would not have all fitted in two fezzas and we still had a blast in the mk4 ST M330. 🙂

As they are at a different price point its hard to compare. For me, being slightly older now, this Focus would suit better. Then again, there is not really another car out there more fun than the Fiesta ST as it does not take itself to seriously. The Focus has better quality materials and is the faster car plus still plenty of fun. As of today's money though the Focus is not too far off the 40k mark so its a big price difference. I really love both cars but this Focus ST, from the drive at the weekend, has definitely gotten under my skin. I would highly recommend it 👍

@@SamAustin just the fact the Fiesta ST is a 1.5 3 cylinder and the focus is a 2.3 litre says it all really. How could they compare. But that 1.5 200hp and shuts down to 2 cylinders to save fuel and it's still faster the older 1.6 4 cylinder is impressive.

Many congrats on your order. Yes it maybe better day to day with the adaptive particularly on UK roads to switch between the modes. The standard suspension will be firmer but that's to be expected in a sporty car. Both cars are great in my opinion 🎉
