A fella is pretty tired of working on 4x4 front ends... Honestly like the idea of a nice simple 2wd truck 🤷

I have a 2020 Frontier with the 3.8, bought it a year ago and put over 25K in miles. Unfortunately this past weekend, the engine let go, bearing failed and took the bottom half with it. Nissan is currently working on finding a new engine to put in it. The only complaint I have about it is the off road capability. It has been stuck at 2 different construction site, and my front yard. My previous truck was a 2009 GMC Canyon with the i4 and 2wd, that handled mild off-roading rather well, including driving on the beach at Mustang Island state park on several occasions. The towing capabilities are acceptable for a mid size truck without a diesel engine. I have towed everything from a 1968 Plymouth Roadrunner, S70 Bobcat, 12' U-Haul trailer on several occasions, and did a road side rescue of a Kia Soul using car dolly. All of which were within the towing capacity of the truck (albeit near the max of towing capacity). Let us know how the Pro-X handles towing and payload. Thanks and keep up the good work.

I use to deliver PPG paint to all the vehicle manufactures and the first time I deliver to Nissan I thought a hurricane just when through everything was Messy and out of place. Compared to Toyota it was night and day. But I’m encouraged about there new truck being 6’7 I don’t think it’s a good option for me but it does look better than previous models.

Love this Truck BUT Ridgeline has more Interior room and rear A/C vents larger backseat, For Frontier to be a #1 Mid-size choice it needs front ventilated seats rear A/C vents, and more rear seat room, But it is Beautiful and priced right, and reliable

When I got my 2022 Nissan Frontier I looked at these Pro X, but I decided to take the Pro X out of the equation and get the convenience and technology package instead.

honestly i hate how this frontier is seen as a good product in the segment. This thing is an absolute waste of space, but its objectively the best in the midsize segment (unless you need the diesel tow power of the gm twins, but get a half ton if you're towing heavy). The entire midsize segment just plain sucks and I'm tired of pretending it doesn't. The ranger and gm twins are old and were dated from the start, the tacoma underperforms in every way except reliability, but its a toyota what do you expect. The ridgeline deserves much more love but the stigma around it being unibody hurts it (although the maverick and santa cruz should help) and the gladiator is a wrangler with a bed. When ram announced the only midsize fca truck would be the gladiator I knew the midsize segment was done for. A ram 500 or ram dakota with ram's interior design would of absolutely demolished the entire segment and forced ground up redesigns from gm, ford, and maybe even toyota.

The idiotic trend of eliminating integrated bumper steps in the corners of beds needs to stop. If people want flip downs, let them have it. But for people who work and beat on their truck, a basic bumper step is what's wanted.

Great review, but one thing to point out is that those side rails are not designed to be rock sliders/hold the vehicle's weight from what I've read. Very possible I'm wrong, just don't want anyone to end up with a crushed rocker panel and not be able to open their door if that's the case.

Eehh its ok. I think you really have to want one of these small pickups to invest in it. I have looked at some in the recent past. Just can’t see going smaller than half ton.

@@Fordguy1997 I guess it's for people who like the tough look of the Pro4x but don't wanna pay the 4x4 premium. At the end of the day tough looks sell and that's why every company covers their cars in plastic cladding. People are a sucker for that. Call it a prerunner package and maybe that would change the equation idk
