@@andysmith8587 @DigD97 6'4", 235 here. Thinking of moving from a WS Ride 135 to a Pursuit, Unlimited, or PA14. Do these stay dry with weight, or keep your feet wet?

NuCanoe Unlimited is an awesome kayak! I got a 4hp on mine and it scoots! 10mph!!!

I bet! That's a killer set up! Especially with a bow mounted trolling motor!

@@LostAngler Thanks! I also modified my seat. I added a stool. I'm trying to put up a video to show it. Hopefully in the next couple of days.

Hi. Great video on describing the kayak. I've been wondering about the rod tip holder. Where does the rest of the rod rest on the kayak? How is it secured? I'm also a fly fisherman, does a 9 feet rod still fits?
@LostAngler2 жыл бұрын
Yes sir it did fit a 9ft fly rod and also it is secured by the fly reel dock
@mlevesque332 жыл бұрын
@@LostAngler Do you mean the fly reel dock you're showing in your March 14 Pursuit video?

@@LostAngler I bought the Unlimited last week and drove 700 km to go get it. Now if it can get warmer, I can start using it.

I have a nucanoe unlimited, the rod tip holders are useless for anything other than a 5' microlite and even then they bend the rod an uncomfortable amount.

What’s pricing and supply like given all that’s going on? Def interested in one of these it seems to be a perfect balance of a canoe kayak paddleboard and small pond boat
@LostAngler2 жыл бұрын
So I don't know about other stores but I have about a half dozen Unlimiteds in stock and a few pivot drives as well. The boat goes for $1799 and the drive is $1349
@blakeorgeron46362 жыл бұрын
Can you go into more detail about the pivot drive? I guess more specifically how it does in marshy like areas or even areas with a good amount of vegetation? One of the areas I fish in has lay downs , broken trees and other vegetation that you can't see

Not a problem, I did an in depth video on the pivot drive last year. It's in the kayak lab Playlist

great vid man. ive been running a jackson cuda 14 since 2014-15, and like you predominately running a fly rod. Mostly shallow water stalking carp and reds based out of houston texas. i went to college in tulsa ok, and had many large lakes and rivers, and I really didn't use my kayak much because of how frustrating the wind can be with-out hands free boat control, and mostly walked shorelines or stalked carp in shallow water if anything. and you just sold me on the nucanoe, for potential versatility. can that thing run shallow?
@LostAngler2 жыл бұрын
It does that really well because the drive works even when it's not locked down. So you can pull it up or let the skeg do its job. You can continue to go forward until the hull runs aground. You will lose reverse though. In super shallow situations like that I tend to lift my drive and sight fish. I spend a lot of time standing in mine and since the drive will move out of the way, it makes fly fishing a breeze!

It looks nice but that's a lot of money for something made completely out of plastic. I work in the polyethylene industry and know what they have in that kayak. My kayak cost $400 and and has a 425 pound weight limit. It took less than $100 to make it into a fishing kayak and that included replacing the seat with a turkey hunting chair from academy. I can actually sit like I'm in a recliner while I fish. The Nucanoe is nice as well is Old Town and others but I just can't justify spending thousands of dollars on one.
