Just an explanation as to why you have to apply pressure to the starter button. Two reasons. Firstly the soft push brings on "accessories" so you need a hard push to go to the starter. Secondly - and obviously, it is a safety issue (CHILDREN!!) And the steering wheel. It is excellent - It is light, direct and great around the town. One drives at ten to two and that is the way the wheel is set up. I came from a big wheel Peugeot (2012 308). Took me about 30 sec to get used to the small wheel. I wouldn't go back to the bigger steering wheel.

NOTE: In this video Richard mentions the Focal stereo system fitted to the 3008 PHEV. Peugeot Australia has advised us (5 May 2022) that the Australian-spec MY22 models will temporarily omit the FOCAL premium audio system due to a manufacturing irregularity. See your Peugeot dealer to confirm when this feature will return.

I notice you drive at a quarter to three. Drive at ten to two - I found that more comfortable.

I own on of these in the UK electric range about 23 miles (37 Km/h) temperature about 7 ºC 44.6 ºF at the moment may get more when the weather gets better. Some of the plastics are only average not made as well German cars, my seats are Alcantara less than 1k miles look like my Mercedes did at 50k would not recommend. We don't get leather or heated seats as standard even on the very top spec. Extra £1.700 pounds or £2.000 red leather. As said only average touchscreen no problem with the starter only have to hold it for a few seconds. The car look stunning in the flesh apart from the big plastic door trims a bit cheap looking I may buy some chrome trims and have them wrapped in high gloss black. The steering wheel is fantastic you soon get used to looking over the wheel I am 6 foot no problem. Now it is an expensive car but for a for 4WD plug in Hybrid it is the fastest one you can get for this sort of money. I am pleased with the car in general just wished I went for the leather seats and rose wood trim. When the new 3008 comes out some time in 2023 (if the Russians haven't nuked us) this car should be fantastic.

I purchased a 2022 Peugeot 3008GT HDi 2.0L diesel (ex demo). In Australia I think the diesel (a proven engine) is the best way to go. It's a great engine and you can pick them up at a reasonable price, if you are lucky enough to find one. Had it for two months now. Very, very satisfied. BTW the 18" wheels are more practical than the 19" low profile tyres.

I have a 3008 and the start button doesn’t have to be pressed hard but it has to be held down for at least 1 second. When you press hard you are pressing the button longer than usual hence why you thought that.

I test drove one of these last week and the starter seemed odd, at first. The only thing I can add, is that you need to hold it for 2 seconds rather than press hard. Perhaps you inadvertently held the starter for a couple of seconds, thinking it was the hard press that activated the car? I definitely used a light touch.
@NPadV2 жыл бұрын
This is the second time the carsguide folks review the 3008, once again they've gone the neanderthal way and confused a long press with a hard press. I can just imagine them smashing that power button like gorillas. It doesn't even take that long to switch on, about a second I would say.

You've compared this plugin hybrid against BEVs which isn't a real fair comparison. how about compared to other Plug in hybrids instead of full Battery Electric Vehicles? is the range comparable to a Volvo Plug in hybrid, or a Mitsubishi Outlander plug in hybrid etc?
@cwilliams42272 жыл бұрын
Yeah. I came here looking for information about the PHEV aspect of this car and we get a clown who doesn't quite understand the value proposition for a PHEV as opposed to an EV or a monaro.

That was one of the best reviews I have ever seen, well done! I really enjoy your review style and you certainly tell it like it is. Can someone please explain the difference between a "plugin hybrid" like this, and a non- plugin hybrid, like the Toyota's?
@eru6ite2 жыл бұрын
Ordinary hybrids usually rely on re-generation from braking or coasting to charge a tiny battery (less than 2kWh). A plug-in hybrid as the name suggests can be plugged in to a wall socket to charge a larger battery (around 10kWh but varies a lot) so you can travel further on battery power alone. You don't have to plug-in to the wall if you don't want to but then it will take a long time to charge on re-gen which makes the battery just dead weight and you lose all the benefits of having a PHEV. Cheers! 🍻

Hi here is the following,the difference between the two is simple,the Hybrid and the Plug in that you have to charge in an outlet and the other the more you step on the brake it will charge.

Is the electric only range 65km or 130km ? Why would you adopt Hybrid in the city supermarket traffic and not electric only ?
@sleepyandblur66432 жыл бұрын
Wasted opportunity (especially when the regular brands are struggling to deliver). What's the point of hybrid option if the up-front is more than 10 times my annual fuel cost? Given the absurd price, buyers might as well go for base model 3008 or go full EVs.
@davidthomas32112 жыл бұрын
AWD = 2 electric motors PLUS 1 ICE engine ...yep sounds like $20K to me . Drive electric in the city during the week ( most people drive less than 30km per week and swap to petrol only at the weekend long drive
@sleepyandblur66432 жыл бұрын
@@davidthomas3211 Proceed to burn $79K of your own money on Euro snobbery, if you wish. Does not make sense when Ioniq 5 or Kia EV6 is cheaper, with full EV performance. If you insist on plugged-in hybrid, MG HS is merely $47K.

I do not like the ergonomic design of the I cockpit positioning . Design is senseless when most car brands whether cheap or expensive can easily see the dashboard but not Peugeot . That's why that stupid steering design comes into play . This is the only downside otherwise a good looking and desirable SUV to own.
@allanbriggs807 Жыл бұрын
Anyone can see the dashboard - plenty of seat and Steering wheel adjustment. Picked one up today and had to find a good driving position. Took me about one minute. Set it to memory.

hmm. guys, are you for real when you say this review rocks?! this car HAS THE ABILITY TO CHARGE THE BATERY WITH ITS PETROL ENGINE! i don't understand why he spent 45 minutes to charge 8 km when he could simply activate the "e-save" mode in the car's menu and could have charge the battery to FULL in a matter of minutes! of course that would take a couple of litres from the tank, but hey, he would have got the 40 km to play in full electric mode. so no need for all the fuss with "slow charging and hence problems by reviewing"... it is such a pitty to make a review with zero research upfront 😮
@Subh80812 жыл бұрын
A good car that is so expensive that it competes out of its league so no one would buy. Even the petrol GT version at $60k with sunroof and napa leather is a smidge more expensive that consumers would want to pay for this brand. There should be a GT version with sunroof at $55k and then, I see a lot of CX-30 and XC-40 buyers considering this.
@stewartmarler14162 жыл бұрын
The cynic in me thinks that Peugeot only made this car to make their standard GT Sport look like good value. Unless you want it for the performance alone, in which case you have to look at it like a 20k performance pack upgrade. After all, the Maloo Richard refers to probably came at a decent premium over a similarly equipped 6 cylinder one. As a fuel saving or planet saving option, it doesn't stack up, but a fun way to make a car faster nonetheless.
@richardfelixgoncalves42332 жыл бұрын
Cool that was very explained,what did you mean!.
@eru6ite2 жыл бұрын
Serious question: who are the target buyers for this car? The economics just don't stack up so seems like it only makes sense to Peugeot fanatics. You fork over a lot up-front, then I would imagine you'd lose a lot on the resale too. You'd have to (a) really want a Peugeot, and (b) really want a PHEV. 🤷♂️
@mazdar1002 жыл бұрын
Cost more up front and will sell for less at resale time. Shame really. Still considering the diesel version. Hope they still sell that..
