I've owned one of these for the last 3 years (well the 1.6 turbo non face lifted version) and it's brilliant. Great design (especially the interior) and tech. I love the small steering wheel and find it easy to look over to view to instruments even though I'm not overly tall. As for the engine start/stop button, it's not that you have to press it harder to shut the engine off, it's a time thing, like 1 second. If you quickly dab the button nothing happens but hold it down for a second and the engine shuts down.

So true, I drove one about two years ago. It was lovely inside but it was a true gutless wonder when going up one of my local hills. My test for any car that I’m looking to buy is does the automatic hunt up and down the gearbox while going up the hill or does it pull smoothly and with no effort. In the 1600 diesel version it was bloody annoying. In the end I went for a second hand A4 S-Line estate with the 211hp petrol engine. Lovely car but had the piston ring problem from the 2008-2011 model years. A litre of oil every 600 miles - Audi said that was acceptable.... I’ve got a GLA45 now, no suffering with a power deficit on that one 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Update. I have purchased the 1.6 hybrid model. My only two gripes are the smaller fuel tank (to make room for the batteries) meaning I only had 35 miles remaining in the tank following a 272 mile journey. I have to say that as well as the engine being new, I did have my Halfords top box on. The other is the apparent removal of manual drive on the hybrid. Damn, I just bought the non AWD 3008, six months ago. I love it, but ideally, I wanted AWD. I'll upgrade it in a year or two. You forgot to mention that the new infotainment screen is larger, but I agree that the interior is almost the same as the old version. Thankfully the interior is probably 5 years ahead of it's time. I love the interior, but my only single gripe is that it is not simple to dim the dash lights and the I cockpit is a lot brighter than the other lights, such as on the steering wheel or down by the volume dial. I also have the steering wheel set low and have a perfect view of the I cockpit. We have Ultimate Red and it's a stunning car. Nice review again Matt, except I was certain you would say go ahead and buy it.

Great review Matt. I hired a 1.6 diesel one of these a few weeks back for an airport run. Motorways and A roads. Lovely car to drive, I'd always appreciate more power although for the majority of people the one I had is plenty sufficient.

Considerably better than Volkswagen products. Have had several vw/audi. The 3008 pug is excellent, great driving, economical and really nice on the inside. Would recommend the glass roof and Focal speaker fit.

Interior plastic quality has gone way up. Was driving a Giulia a month back, and they shared a dealership. Popped in a new 3008, plastics are way better than when we drove one back in like 2017....way better than my little Puggy 208s plastics.

I bought the 3008, because I wanted an SUV, however I do think the interior of the 508 is better. I like the fact that the infotainment screen is lower down and the vents are above it. I also like the fact that the I cockpit is a bit wider. I've never driven one, but I have taken a look inside and it's beautiful. The car I'm really dreaming of, is a production version of Peugeot's Fractal.

Great prices. Currently driving a 2017 2008 GT diesel in black. Prior, we had a 2008 Allure in gray and before that we had a white hatchback 308 limited edition. Got that one in 2009. All leases.

Nice car to drive , but adaptive cruise control stalk is hidden behind steering wheel spoke, so if you not going round a corner you have to fumble to find it, whilst trying to keep eye on road,it would be better to have it on front of steering wheel spoke instead of the pretty useless voice command.

Drove the pre facelift version in 2.0L GT Line auto 180PS trim The good built well enough Smooth quick enough with the 180PS diesel engine and not too bad on fuel (40-45mpg over 500 miles) massage & heated seats etc. The bad The climate control in the touch screen was a NIGHTMARE whilst driving Couldn't see the dials because of where I had to have the wheel (I'm 6'1) Not a huge fan of the exterior Electric tailgate seems to take forever to open
@allanbriggs807 Жыл бұрын
I'm 6ft tall and I have absolutely no problem. Plenty of forward/back & up/down adjustment. Same with the steering wheel. If you are tall just sit high in the seat and well back and have the steering wheel a fraction lower than normal. I set it so the top of the steering wheel was just a fraction under the instrument panel (and my wife is 5ft2". - she had no problem either) Biggest problem is that drivers sit too close so It's impossible to sit the steering wheel low enough. I picked up my 3008 today and had to set the seat and steering wheel to a comfortable position . Took me about a minute and I set that position in the memory. I drove 160kms home - very comfortable.
