I have Day’s Undoing in my control deck on arena with my Oracle of the Alpha (if you’re into Alchemy on arena) and that card is a life saver. I love it when I get someone to mill me away all game and then I’m back in it 😂

My lgs had this deck for $40. A single copy of Watery Grave was $30. So for $10 more I got: Watery Grave ($30) Shark Typhoon ($9) 2x Torrential Gearhulk ($8) 4x Consider ($6) 4x Fatal Push ($2) And a suite of other UB control cards. That’s $55+ value for $40. And nearly completes my control toolkit (already had 3 shark typhoon). The rest of the play sets of cards like extinction event, cry of the carnarium, etc can be had for cheap.

@@PaulissVegan That was based on my lgs prices. After the decks release, RTR graves became $12.5. Original print graves became $23

Hey man new to the physical side of mtg do you recommend buying challenger decks to get started. Also can you explain what a commander deck is please

I'd normally recommend the starter decks for new players, but you'd outgrow those after a few games. The Pioneer format is non-rotating and these decks are somewhat competitive at the time they're released. The Pioneer ones are better than the Standard challenger decks, since the cards stay legal unless banned. The Standard deck cards have rotated out of the format by now. Commander is a 100 card multiplayer format where every card is unique, you start at 40 life, and you can use almost any card ever printed. It's not very new-player friendly, but they have starter decks for that format too.

All my friends play standard 60 card decks so I think that's what I'm going to stick to do you recommend getting a planeswalker deck or not really. Also should I not buy certain decks if there very old would a 2018 deck leave me at a massive disadvantage

None of the old Planeswalker decks are Standard-legal anymore. Older Commander and Pioneer decks are perfectly useable though (but still check for banned cards!). You can see what sets are Standard-legal here: whatsinstandard.com
